Central location, near to all major tourist locations, very close to train(subway/tube) and buses ;fridge/microwave/toaster/kettle; close to casual restaurants and grocery stores, fun/colorful neighbourhood

Our room had a leak in the corner so the plaster and paint was peeling and falling on the ground. Apart from that the rooms are extremely small but contains what you need. The TV had zero reception and took up the whole table.

Shower drain was blocked and water poured out on to the carpet. We put towels down to stop it. Went down to desk and told them ( no phone in room ) receptionist came and looked at it and gave us fresh towels to put on the carpet !!!!! While mopping up the water we saw how dirty it was behind the toilet and under the wash basin. Sheets were very clean but there were stains on the doona. TV was difficult to use, the remote was broken and the batteries kept falling out.

My sister and i stayed here knowing full well about the noise. For my sister who is a heavy sleeper the noise was of no problem, me though being a light sleeper found it to be a bit of an issue, ear plugs did help but didnt block the noise of the base, even still it wasnt as loud as others have said in many of the ratings that we had read before we stayed there. As for the hotel itself, we found the staff to be great. The hotel everything as it should be. Location fantastic, although being Kings Cross most definately not somewhere to stay should you have children staying with you. We had a great trip and big part of it being due to this hotel, would stay there again in a heartbeat, maybe not so much on the weekend though haha..

The Lido Suites have recently been refurbished and the rooms are freshly painted, with an excellent bed, bedding and bathroom, DVD player and big plasma tv. There is however inadequate cutlery, crockery and glasses, no coffee plunger, no chocolates or DVD library as promised, only free to air channels on the tv, nowhere to stop the car to unload baggage, awful back alley views from the window, which did not open. The main issue however is noise - from the lift if your room is adjacent to it, from other guests in the corridor because of poor sound insulation, and finally, from the nightclub, which is situated in the same building as the hotel. Sound from the nightclub vibrates through the room all night, and I mean till at least 6am. So this is not the place if you arrive by car or want a quiet place to stay, but if you intend to go clubbing at the Cross then it's really convenient and within staggering distance of most places along the strip.

Very centrally located, spacious rooms, very clean, helpful front desk staff.. but can get noisy during weekend nights due to loud music from nightclubs nearby.

Rooms were clean and modern. Pillows were wonderful! Nice big TV, air con, good bathroom. Everything you need for a nice stay. Would only recommend this place to people who intend to go out for the night in Kings Cross. Not for a long stay for a holiday. The rooms are very noisy from the night club and construction site over the road. Oh, and if you are scared of lifts, I would recommend the stairs. . . the lift is pretty old!

Rooms were neat and tidy with good facilities. We had a few problems though as hair dryer did not work and hot water took at least 3-5 minutes to even become warm. I had 4 rooms booked though and of the 4 only 1 had problems. Service was very friendly and staff helpful at all times. The location was great as we were right in the heart of Kingscross which is what we wanted. I would definitely not recommend this place though for a holiday or relaxing stay. It is really a 1 night kind of place for people who plan to go out and have a big one. The noice from the night club next door is constant, it actually felt like we were in the club the entire night. Other than that, would recommend for single party people.

Great location in the centre of Kings Cross. Unfortunately excessive noise from people in the street in front of the hotel until 5 am was a distinct negative. There is a night club in the basement of the building. A deaf person would really enjoy room 208!

Nice clean room, very comfortable bed and pillows, and nice modern bathroom, large flat screen TV. I have only rated the service as bad because there basically was no service, when trying to check out 10am on a weekday there was just nobody there, we had to leave the room key/card with the cleaner as there were no instructions as to what to do. The only other problem is that on the weekend it is very noisy if you are on the street side, as the clubs are just around the corner, you can here all the patrons leaving the clubs and fighting etc. At the moment (March 2008) there is a construction site across the road and come Moday morning it is also very noisy. I think that if you don't have a room on the street side then it would probably be much quiter.

Black tiles in the bathroom not a good idea - they look dirty. The "suite" was surprisingly small. Bed looked clean & linen seemed freshly laundered. Good value.

No phones in the rooms! Request a room on third floor at the back - lots of street noise on weekends and from night clubs which is in the basement.
