Only a 90-minute drive from Sydney, the Country's Gateway, Lilianfels Blue Mountains is regarded as an unforgettable experience and has quickly established a reputation as Australia's finest boutique 'getaway'. Lilianfels sits adjacent to the Three Sisters which are located in the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains National Park. The Three Sisters symbolise the stature and pride of the Blue Mountains - towering escarpments, wide, deep blue-hazed valleys, incomparable views and impenetrable depths- they are awe-inspiring. The historic home 'Lilianfels', built in 1889, has been transformed to its original splendour and now houses the award-winning restaurant, Darley's named after the original owner. Set in two acres of English-style gardens, the adjoining 85 room Country House, opened in 1992, has been designed in line with the architecture of the heritage home, offering all the facilities and comforts of a world class retreat. *****The only officially rated 5 star hotel in the Blue Mountains

Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa Guest Reviews

4.8 out of 5

Having travelled extensively, this is definitely an A1 quality Resort.! If you are looking for near perfection Lilianfels is it. Service, facilities & cleanliness are bare none. High tea rates as one of best we have enjoyed and staff immaculate to detail down to the valet parking. However, the SMH 2 hat awarded restaurant is puzzling in that it is beautifully appointed but the food standard, when we visited, was poor quality and the maitre de was overbearing when we complained. Be prepared for the cost $'s to match the experience.

3.2 out of 5

Parking is completely inadequate for the number of guests. I was told to park on the street which was a long walk in the cold and dark. To add insult the parking is metered. The reception staff seemed unperturbed and unsympathetic.

A short stay but fantastic none the less. Will be back for a longer stay next time to enjoy the service, facilities and great views. Room was lovely, very clean and had a lovely old world charm about it, yet not dated. A great winter escape with fabulous facitlities. Darelys is a great dinner option - highly recommended.

The lounge area was not available to guests. It was booked out to private visitors and there was no where warm to sit and read. This was not acceptable as the motel advertises that this area is available to guests. The only alternative was to sit in a very cold library with no heating or to sit ouside in the cold. They should not be able to use areas of the motel for commercial purposes and charge guests while advertising that guests have access to these areas. This is double dipping, false advertising and not acceptable as a paying guest. Even staff admitted that this was not right. Staff were very nice but could not do anything about the decision taken by management. If you want to go to this motel you have to book to sit in their lounge area and they do not tell you.

I am surre this was once a true 5 star hotel but it is a bit past its "use-by" date now. Our room with a view did have a view if I stood on the desk and leaned forwards to see over the rooftop. The room decor was "tired" as was the beaten up room service tray. It had done a few too many deliveries. The service was absolutely immaculate and my compliments on that aspect

Great place to unwind and impress overseas visitors. Only 'grizzle' - air con in the room at night is a little noisy and became uncomfortably warm for sleeping. Also could a wider selection of chocolates be made available. A kitkat bar and 1 small Toblerone in the minibar is a bit stingey.

Lovely hotel, decor and surroundings as should be in a 5 star, food not particularly special, breakfast the same as any hotel but terribly expensive. Bed very very comfortable and bathroom accessories good incl. bath salts (nice touch). They have a L'Occitane stall in the shop too which is a good idea. Spa gorgeous but treatments a bit dearer than they should be. All the staff were very nice. Overall I would go again & would recommend to others but everything is a bit overpriced so it's best not to think about it and just enjoy!

An accommodation of great beauty and relaxation set upon a beautiful piece of this planet; worthy of a visit and a listing of places to visit before you die.

Lovely location and room everything we expected Very dissapointed that no restaurant was available on the Monday night that we stayed and we were offered a verylimited menue in the lounge or a barbecue which you cook yourself. The food was very very average and although a side plate was laid we had to ask for bread. The new manager of the hotel is addressing these problems so as the rooms and the location were superb I would stay there again

It's a nice place to stay if you don't expect the same 5star standards you find in big cities. The facilities were great but the service was poor. Food was average. The best thing was the location as it's right near the 3 Sisters. If you have money to spare, then go for it. O/w stay somewhere cheaper

The complex provides excellent service when compared to other Australian Hotels. The restaraunts are very good with good food and a very good selection of wines. I would be happy to stay there any time.

Beautiful hotel. Perhaps a few too many day visitors that seem to take over the place from 11am to 5pm. Service could have generally been better (no one to open the door as you struggle through with 4 bags), lounge bar service excruciatingly slow, breakfast staff a bit forgetful, but concierge was very attentive and otherwise excellent. Pricing is top end, and perhaps slightly out of kilter with the facilities offered.

The fine dining is over rated and pricy. There is a better resturant in Leaura up the road. Hotel staff just fantatic. Just a joy to be there and would return. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. FANTASTIC SPA and indoor pool!! Great outside pool.

This is just the most delightful place to stay. The staff are absolutely excellent - thoroughly professional with nothing being too much trouble. We booked a "Mountain View Deluxe" room which cost a bit extra but it was worth it. Even on the wet and miserable days! We cannot recommend this establishment highly enough!
