An excellent hotel very well located near the city centre, galleries and cafes and restaurants. Very handy to be so close to the Metro also. Hotel is beautiful inside and the rooms quite luxurious. I can recommend it.
Lisboa Hostal was a great little place to stay. It was very centrally located - close to everything - we were able to walk around the city from the Hostal as our base. The room was very comfortable and quiet. We were a bit concerned that there might be some noise (and we were there on a Friday and Saturday night) but our room on the top floor was extremely quiet. The bathroom was massive with a good shower and bath. The internet connection (wifi) was better than most we have experienced in Europe so far. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to friends.

Staff very frendly and helpfull. Very good location, walking distance from Prado, Santa Anna Square, Plaza Mayor, Puerto del Sol, Atocha Railway station. Simple hotel, very clean.
Right in heart of everything, room decor could be updated.
The day manager was very friendly and his english was good. The location was excellent, close to the centre of town and very reasonably priced. Ask for a room not on the street side as it was quite noisy, especially on the weekend

By not setting high requirements in a hotel and staying for few days, it is a very good located with nice personal city hotel. The only thing I criticise is the smoky smelling curtain even thought smoking is in hotels in spain since December 2005 not allowed.
The hotel is excellently located and the price is good according to the quality. The rooms are not new and smelling a little bit. Wireless ADSL service is very good ... when no more than two guests are connected.
The room we were given had no window to the outside. the bathroom window opened onto the elevator shaft, which was smelly and noisy. It was in a great position, we just think we overpaid for the room.
The shower head was not properly held in place by the wall bracket.

The Lisboa Hostel Madrid was very good for the price with helpful staff and in a very convenient position between the major art galleries and the central shopping area. The bath room was fantastic. The only problem for an Australian used to hotels with coffee and tea making facilities in the hotel room who likes having the day's first cup of coffee before going out was the dreadful coffee produced by the machine downstairs.
Good value hotel in the heart of the action. Big clean rooms and bathrooms with staff who don't interfere. And for those who miss the English language, both CNN and eurosport for afternoon siestas.
The hotel is a bit older but still clean and tidy. It is in great location for both sights and nightlive.
