Getting there:From Fiumicino airport you can get the Special Train Leonardo Express: The "Leonardo Express" train leaves every day from Fiumicino Airport station every 30 minutes and it stops at the Termini Railway Station without no mid-journey stops. From Ciampino Airport take line A.CO.TRAL until metro stop ANAGNINA. Take the metro until TERMINI stop. From Termini station, catch the bus line 105 (Grotte Celoni) and get off at the sixth bus stop (Casilina-Gallarate). Walk for 10 mt till the traffic light and turn right (Via Gallarate), pass the arch and you will be in Piazza Lodi. From Piazza Lodi take Via Oristano, at number 14 you will find Hotel Lodi.

Somebody else booked the hotel for me -- initially I was shocked that these rooms do not have a bathroom on my room but on the hallway and is shared with other guests. Location is not great, but manageable. Definate plus is the extreme friendliness of the staff and the free wifi.
The staff was exceptional, they made every effort possible to make our stay in Rome very enjoyable. Not only did the offer very useful advice on how to travel through Rome, what sites to see and what places to eat at, they also gave me advice about other cities in Italy.
