Lynams Hotel Dublin Guest Reviews

was a bit worried before arrival because of a lot of bad reviews but was very pleasantly surprised.we were in room 18 at the back of the hotel,no view whatsoever but really quiet,no traffic noise at all.room was a good size, perfectly clean and fantastic value for a hotel that is slap bang in dublin city centre,i'll be back!

The staff were very pleasant and although the hotel is situated on a busy street, it is moderately quiet. I asked to change rooms due to the quality of the mattress in the first one and was happily accommodated. The overall quality of the hotel has dropped noticeably since my previous visit in 2004; the breakfast (not included in my booking) was quite bland and the furniture throughout the building is noticeably worn. There may be a better deal in the same category, though one could certainly do worse. I'd stay there again.

it is very good and very unusual to get a "single" room in an hotel. the location could not be bettered - really central. the bathroom was spotless but did not provide any soap or shampoo which we have come to expect. everything else was provided including a hair-drier. but the carpet badly needed a good hoovering or else should be thrown out.

This hotel is conveniently located on O'Connell Street, just north of the Dublin General Post Office. It is a very good location from which to see many of the sights in Dublin. The hotel itself is a little dated and in need of some renovation.

The hotel is in a very good central location close to all major points of interest for a visitor to Dublin. The service was basic, but acceptable. On the up side the staff were all friendly and helpful (reception, restaurant...), the lift was working ;), breakfast was ok (no fruits or veggies though), sheets and bathroom were clean, the room was facing away from the street and on the top floor so it was not noisy. On the down side, no aircon. in room (small fan instead), no wifi except in the lobby, dated decor, could do with a through cleaning - especially windows, curtains and carpets! We got a bit of a shock when entering the lobby, but the price was good (can't expect more for that!). Wouldn't go alone or with kids, but in twos ok.

Very clean, crisp bedding and general clean room, receptionist nice, excellent central location, bus from the airport stops across the road. The only downsides were the walls are paper thin so you can literally follow the conversation in the next room! And the windows don't close properly. We were only there for one night so this was okish but if it were for any longer it might have spoilt it. Very cheap tho so if all you need is a clean bed for the night it's fine.

Had booked smoking room but there was no ashtray in room and in bathroom there was just one hand towel and soap. I rang reception and she arrived a couple of minutes later with one bath towel and a saucer for an ashtray. I was staying 3 nights and each day this wa replaced with a clean saucer. Radiator was also turned off in December.

Very dated in appearance, but excellent value. Room windows don't open too much just barely enough to let some air in, which was needed as the heating was full on (it was freezing outside) but room was too hot, good complaint in winter. No hesitation in returning.

Rooms are basic but comfortable. Service was very good and staff very nice and helpful. Only major flaw was we didnt get much sleep due to rubbish removal men, alarms going off outside and other noise.

The only complaint would be: at 4.00am loud music was coming from one of the other rooms.

Stayed at this hotel earlier this year and found it not to be as good this time. Good point was we were allowed to check in early and the reception girls were friendly and helpful. We reported two faults with our room at about 9-45am on 25th. One was sorted the next day 26th the other was still not sorted when we checked out. The bed linen was clean, crisp and fresh as were the towels. The hotel itself is in a great location but the decor throughout is very tired and it requires a complete overhaul.

I liked the fact that this hotel was located in a central location (right on O'Connell Street in downtown Dublin) and provided free internet access to all guests. This hotel was very quiet, despite being located in a busy area. It would have been nice if the bar area had been staffed at night (past 9pm) when most of the other places in the area closed down.
