Very, very nice. Loved the location and easy access to good restaurants and tourist sites. Perfect for our short, two day stay.
We've stayed in Saigon 4 times over the past 3 years.During that time, we've stayed in 2 different parts of the city and at 3 different 5 star hotels. The Majestic is our favorite. because it's in the prime tourist area. You can walk to most of the better shops, night clubs and top restaurants. It's a very comfortable, luxury hotel. They have all the facilities you'd expect at a top hotel and their staff is world class.
From the moment we stepped through the door we were met by courteous, friendly and helpful staff. Room overlooking river was fabulous, not too noisy as some past guests had mentioned. Breakfast on the 5th floor with choice of sitting indoors or out on the terrace was lovely and a great variety of different foods. Staff were excellent. Beautiful grand old hotel and strongly recommend a stay here.
i love this Hotel, really good location and the bedlinen is very-very comfortable. the staffs especially the escort lady so helpful. The room with the river view is really a great bonus. Its open air dining is amazing. Truly a Majestic experience! I definitely will stay again in this hotel.
It's hard to faul this lovely old hotel. Situated in an ideal location in District 1 and with all the service one would expect from a 5 star hotel. One small challenge for us was that the shower over the bath was a little difficult to get in and out of due to the very high bath sides. The cake of soap was not replaced during our stay however there was plenty of liquid soap provided. Our room didn't have any view - however threse factors would NOT stop me highly recommending this place. Would happily stay again.
Hotel, staff and amenities were excellent. I would definitely stay here again. Only suggestions I would make are to stay in the Old Wing (with a view of the river) and make sure when you arrive at the airport you get a local taxi (Vina Sun or Mai Linh) as the 'limousines' - which is hardly what they are - charge $35 to the hotel. It should only be approx $7.
A hotel that lived up to its name! If you want a hotel with historic character and up modern-day facilities, this hotel is perfect! I'm looking forward to a staying there again.
A wonderful old hotel in a great location to understand the real HCM City. As an old hotel it suffers from being "Magestic" when modern traveller expect modern amenities. But staff and management service levels make up for this. Location allows an understanding of the bussle of HCM and the commerce of the river. A little far to walk to the markets but good taxi service overcomes this.
Location is good in the harbour side of the road. Very convenient to visit attractions like red cathedral and post office in 10-15 leisure walk. I have reserved the colonial superior and the hotel even upgraded us to a colonial deluxe. Room is very spacious and well decorated with old French style. Staff is nice and helpful and breakfast is good with a lot of fruits to choose from. Will absolutely stay again next time.
This grand old hotel has been beautifully restored and provides a very comfortable stay in the midst of the tourist area of Ho Chi Minh City. Everything is provided as one would expect in a hotel of this ranking right down to carefully sifted sand embossed with the hotel logo in the lobby ash trays. Hotel staff provide excellent friendly service. When I was having a problem connecting to the internet in my room, an IT guy came to the room to look after it. The buffet breakfast is superb with pretty well everything one could want to eat for breakfast - both Western ans Asian selections. At the moment there is a big construction project next door so if you are sensitive to noise you might want to request a room away from that - we had a location not at all affected by the noise. I cannot find anything negative to say about this hotel. If you enjoy staying in a heritage property with all the comforts of a modern hotel, you will enjoy the Majestic.
Overall the stay was very pleasent. The staff are friendly and helpful (but not very cheerful). We had the colonial suite which smelled a little musty on arrival. Once the mustiness disipated it was replaced with a stale cigarette odour. The bedroom however did not smell so we didn't complain. The shower (over-bath) which is made for very short people was jammed into the corner of the bath and meant that the plastic shower curtain was all over you. Maybe we're fussy, but we paid similar prices for an upgraded room at the Sofitel Metropole in Hanoi and it leaves this place for dead.
The room was luxurious and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the tour desk arranged our private tours.
The hotel is charming with a beautiful lobby, stunning chandeliers and excellent service. The girls behind the desk are helpful and give excellent advice. The room itself was large but smelt musty so a lemongrass smelling humidor was left in the room. The location is right in the heart of the main shopping area but also on the river. The buffet there is sumptuous and much of it is cooked then and there so it is hot. We enjoyed our stay so much we kept lengthening it.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in May 09. The staff (particularly the Reception and Bar Staff) were exceptionally helpful. Room was beautifully clean and we were lucky enough to have a nice quiet room away from the road. We wouldn't hesitate in using this Hotel again on our next visit to Saigon.
very central location.very clean and would def recommend this hotel.thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay here.staff very helpful.
We loved this hotel and returned for our last night in Vietnam. Spent the afternoon in the spa which was great!
I was very impressed with the hotel - it was a truly 5-star experience. Everything was perfect. If I ever come to Saigon again, I'll definitely stay there again.
On check in we were greeted by a little Vietnamese lady, Fleur, who showed us to our room and explained the hotel facilities. She was just lovely and a great asset to the hotel. Fantastic buffet breakfast - get in really early for a seat with views over the Saigon River. The balcony in the river view rooms are perfect for watching the cyclos and other Saigon life without being hassled. We really enjoyed our stay here.
The managment of this hotel are to be commended for their example and training of staff as I have never received such good service, they just could not do enough to ensure your stay was second to none.
