A majestic old hotel with modern facilities and old-fashioned service standards. Great food and Spa.
Best hotel that I have ever stayed in , I ve been to Manila many times and a I will only stay at the Manila Hotel in the future. Thanks
Refurbished rooms are very nice but because work is still ongoing it can often be noisy in the room. Check out is slow and taxis often difficult to find but overall this is the best hotel in the Bay Area with a very good location.
Service is slow especially at check out but otherwise it would be difficult to find fault the this hotel; refurbished rooms are of very high standard, pool area also refurbished and is very much improved.
nice big room. recently renovated. like the huge bathroom w/ both bath tub & big shower corner w/ tv. only thing missing is wifi or internet in the room, still have to go to the business centre, so 2K.
For the price i paid, it exceeded my expectations. the staff are very friendly and accomodating.
Nice experience staying in this historic, but up to date, hotel. Excellent breakfast. Wonderful Christmas decorations in lobby.
Swimming pool is still closed and check in/out service slow. It took over 20 minutes to bring my suitcases from the room to the taxi. It remains very difficult to get a regular taxi in this location resulting in having to use private, but expensive, service.
The Manila Hotel is the Grand Lady of Hotels in the city. The excellent service and outstanding facilities make it my favorite hotel in Manila. The pool area was not available during my stay in Nov. 08, but when reopened I am sure it will be just as special as the rest of this historic and wonderful hotel.
An excellent hotel, great value, rooms are very very comfortable. Staff can be a little distant but it's still a great place to stay.
Swimming pool was closed during my stay for reconstruction. Hotel is old but has character. Dripping taps, faulty air conditioning, condensation in the bathroom ceiling and faulty light fitting all repaired promptly. Often difficult to get regular taxis but hotel and "private" taxis always available. Excellent service and pleasant staff make up for minor faults in the facilities.
Yes, it is 'ye olde world' but everything worked and the breakfast was good to excellent. The room was quiet, so no complaints, and the bed comfortable. The lobby is amazing - huge and partly carpeted in rich red tones.
Good services and facillities. The location is very good. It is easy to commute in this point.
An old hotel but still in original condition. Rooms quite comfortable and excellent views of Intramuros area from Room. Good choice of restaurants and lots of nightly live entertainment. A great venue for functions. Excellent service and very clean.
Overall, a very nice hotel with very good facilities including a band in the bar nightly, lovely lobby with piano playing each afternoon and other band members a bit later. Reception was a bit rude on checkout, especially. The pool bar is definitely looking dated with rotten floor level timberwork and rust and worn bar areas. Could do with renovation and some tile replacement within the pool. Given the relatively expensive accommodation, I don't see why they could not include room internet service without an extra 800php per day to add on. It seems every local politician's family present themselves for weekend breakfast, leaving little left for the in-house clientele.
This historic hotel is an icon of Philippine hotels, and a reminder of the strong American-Philippine connection. Nostalgic and comparable to other old world hotels we have stayed in. The room was atmospheric with a Manila Bay view famous for its sunsets. The pool was small but adequate, the gym was antiquated and clubby (and could could use some upgrading). The location is isolated which makes it private, but difficult to easily access taxis. Overall, the hotel is well worth a visit, with the ambiance of yesteryear, the appeal of the historical touch and a very friendly staff. We also arranged to see the impressive MacArthur Suite. The hotel was also used by the Japanese Imperial Forces. It is definitely a destination for all traveling World War II history buffs.
for historical reasons i like this hotel. it's also centrally located.
This is a nice hotel and I am satisfied. I can recommend this hotel to my friends.
great views of the bay if you ask. a must for all
