The hotel is rather old so the rooms and plumbing reflect it. Everything was in working order though and the rooms are clean. Only 3 of the 5 elevators were working, so at rush times you have to wait. Only 2 counters are open for check out, the procedures are slow, if there is a problem and you are lined up, figure 30 minutes for the check out, which is unacceptable in my book. Location is great, the breakfast buffet quite nice and adequate. Overall I think you get a good deal for your money, if you book it as a hot deal.
Manila Pavilion Hotel is a value for price hotel, for my family this hotel is the best for its price and location. Even the bathroom is an old style one, but its OK for short stay. the carpet is old, but good enough for our stay there. Every time we go went to Manila we stay in this hotel (already 7 times)
The room was looking a bit "tired". the facilities needed upgrade BUT As usual, the staff were so polite and helpful. Buffet breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend (in fact I already did to my Swiss friends and are booking soon) the hotel and we would stay there again next time we visit Manila. Most importantly, Hotel Club staff helped us greatly alleviate our strife when we have to change dates due to death in my family. Thank you to those concerned.
Hotel needs serious renovation. Carpets, curtains, bedcovers....dirty. Unwashed for long time....leave alone unchanged. Bedsheets in fresh room had loose hair both times I checked in. Bed linens had tears. Single sofa was torn. Towels old and worn out. Smell of old dust and grime. Owner does not seem to be bothered as people coming in droves for casino and for location. Short-sighted view according to me. In favour...a) Very good breakfast b) Internet comes free and is fast c) Location is very convenient d) Pricing reasonable but does not justify the pathetic condition of the rooms/linens/towels. Will not stay again...will not recommend. However, if renovated and re-done I will be back immediately.
The breakfast was the best thing about this stay! the room felt small but clean and wasn't what i thought i was booking, it was good for the time we spent there.
Rooms are very, very ordinary ....... no better than 2.5 stars. They need a good makeover. If you go to the bar, expect add on after add on after add on.
Verry good staff were excellent location great and good quality meals
I have stayed at this hotel at least 10 times in the last 12 months and nothing is a problem at this Hotel, there is always some one to help, if the need arises. I always feel comfortable staying there. The addition to your name on the TV when you arrive in your room makes you feel that some one cares. The food in the place offers a very big range of types enough to suit anyone from any country. room service food is presented in a way that could not be faulted even allowing for a bad choice. Some rooms, although showing some age, and lack of care from previous guests, are neat clean and tidy. The location is close to some famous land marks and parks. It is less than 200p from the airport with the new Yellow taxis and less than 100p to the great "Mall of Asia". It is my home when I stay in Manila.
Very old hotel - stinky and dirty carpets! the lights (lamps) in my room did not work properly. The only good thing was the breakfast buffet which was in a newly refurbished dining area. The servise was very good and very friendly staff.
Overall, I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The location was excellent with shopping and restaurants within short walking distances. The only issue I had was the internet connection. The rooms are equipt with WiFi, but the connection is extremely slow and I was rarely able to connect to the internet. The rest of the services were outstanding. The restaurants were excellent, and the staff very accommodating.
The hotel is one of the oldest in the country. It must be renovated or refurvished to improve the physical and aesthetics.
Good location, very warm and friendly staff. Clean rooms. Great breakfast. But rooms including bathrooms need refurbishment.
No shower head or blackout curtains in initial room. Tried to charge for telephone calls not completed. Reception sometimes very crowded
I enjoyed the stay at this hotel and the staff were good, great location. as with all Hotels in manila the rooms are old and tired but well maintained. And like all Hotels in manila it takes forever to check out. However would recommend this hotel over most in the philippines
In the old centre of town a good location. We did like the breakfast very much here. Furniture and rooms need to be updated.
Other hotels in Manila are much better for location, service and presentation of room. The only good thing is that it has casino within the hotel.
The rooms are the same yet the price has increased?? Also the location of the hotel is not convienient compared to other similar hotels. For the price of a room there are many other hotels that are better quality in suitable locations around manila.
I have stayed at the Pavilion many times but they have increased the pricing of rooms without any increase in the level of standards. The increase in facilities seems to have resulted in this price increase yet the rooms are still the same.
The room was not vacuumed when we checked in. Otherwise, everything was just as expected. We are not aware that there is a casino in the hotel. If we do, we would have chosen it for a family holiday stay.
Although tea & coffee sachets are provided as complimentary, no tea making facility like a hot pot or electric kettle is provided.
