We appreciated being 'upgraded' to a larger room, but then found the air conditioner was permanently fixed on 26 degrees. As a result, we had to keep the windows opened, which meant a very noisy night. Repairs to the air conditioning were scheduled for day of our departure, so we didn't find out whether they resulted in a more comfortable temperature.
I had a 2 night stay while attending a conference in Manly. Wife and bub came along too and were added to the booking (change from twin to double room and addition of cot) with minimum fuss and no extra cost. Check in and staff were very pleasant and efficient. Desk is staffed 08:30 - 19:30, which was fine for us, but check what arrangements can be made for late or early check in/out. Lift and corridors were on the tight side with pushchair & luggage, but ("district view") room was plenty spacious enough for the three of us, and contained all of the expected facilities (although no biscuits for the tea!). "Ocean view" rooms will face the side of the Novotel across Raglan St, but you will see the beach and sea if you look a bit to the right - just check out Google maps/street view so you know what to expect. It's a great Manly location though. I would stay here again and would recommend it to others as a good value, unpretentious base for Manly.

loud nightclub music next door could not turn up volume on tv, air conditioner was a fantastic ! 2 sinks was useful. ambience good
A great location with very friendly and helpful staff. There is a little street noise which is to be expected considering where it's located, but in general, a good place to stay.
I thought the room size was fine after reading a few reviews that thought they were a bit small. I was by myself on business. Room I was in had air con, was clean and tidy and very handy to the beach, restaurants etc. Service was very helpful. Road was a little noisy, but I'd stay here again, I thought it was good value for money.
The rooms are tiny, but the location right at the beach is perfect.
Reasonable price and location however the views are only good if you stand close to the window as the rooms face the side street.
