Mantra 2 Bond Street Sydney Hotel

I hesitatedly booked an Executive Studio apartment here for the 3 nights we were in Sydney. I say hesitatedly because I didn't really want to spend the money they required and I couldn't really tell from the google map if my choice of location was a hit or a miss. Well, as soon as we drove down the street and arrived at our destination, I KNEW I made an excellent choice and would not regret the rate (I'm an average working class American who doesn't like to waste money on frivolous ammenities). George street is THE main street in the Rocks/Sydney area and NOTHING was more than a very few minutes' walk from Mantra (The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, Opera House). We needed no public transportation to explore - we discovered this after we booked a 48hr hop on hop off city tour bus - I recommend that as well - for a great overview tour of the city and Bondi Beach, but it certainly wasn't necessary staying at the Mantra. The staff was very helpful and friendly - provided all sorts of information and recommendations. The room - oh my, I cannot say enough. They thought of every need possible - 3 of us stayed in the room - spacious; the double bed was comfortable; the rollaway great; awesome bathroom with washing machine and dryer (and detergent); GREAT kitchen - granite counters, maple cabinets, full fridge/freezer, microwave, pots, pans, panini maker, hot pot, wine glasses, bottle opener, forks, knives, dishes, etc, water pitcher. Wow. AND the room service menu was not expensive - especially compared to the States. I just cannot say enough. Thank you very much for the awesome stay - I look forward to finding your brand elsewhere! We stayed in room 1311 - wow - you have to see it.

An appartment hotel with full kitchen for the price of a regular hotel room but more space. International hotel standard. I have stayed here before (years ago) and am pleased to report it is a well maintained facility. There are charge back to room deals with near-by restaurants, and a supermarket within a few mins walk in Wynyard station meaning it is also well accessible by the airport train. And 5mins walk to the harbour ferries, and under 10min to Darling harbour precinct. 2 room suites would suit a family for a Sydney stay. Ideal for business people who want to self cater.

We had a great time at this location, the queen bed with a step down to kitchen and lounge dining area, we had south facing room with a small balcony (not used much as it rained all weekend...). This is great location if you want to explore Sydney. It is close to shops, close to 'The Rocks', the ferry terminal, the Opera House and Darling Harbour. We found the room clean and tidy with everything we needed for a short stay. 11am check out was great and the staff at reception were friendly, the night door person was friendly. If you arrive by train get off at Wynyard station exit onto George Street and a short (200m ) walk to the North, to easy, just do it.

We gave up on trying to get a harbour view within our budget of $600 for three nights and chose the Mantra 2 on Bond St. We did not regret this, and would stay there again. Location is pretty ideal really, if you want to be a within an easy walk to the harbour. The balcony (most rooms apparently) gave good city views. The rest of the facility seems pretty good for the price, not perfect (what is?), but I would say that the management there does try. The pool/spa on the top of the building is quite enjoyable - even on a breezy late autumn night.

Highly recommended to anyone requiring inner city accommodation.

We are locals and I wasnted to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary as well as have a night out in our city pretending we were tourists. The location is deep downtown on George St, 5 mins walk from the 'Rocks' area and if you step out of the hotel, you are immediately surrounded by the sights and sounds of Sydney downtown. I can't say enough about the gtreat location. It will be up to you all to discover for yourselves. Big Tick! I was booked a Delux Single Bedroom apartment [as the 2x Bedroom Apts. were fully booked]and ordered an extra roll out for the lounge area. For $264, this was fantastic! Car o/night was $50. My only niggle was paying $20 per hour after 11.00am checkout time to 1300, which I have never had to do travelling in USA. Other than that, perfect. Rates To Go...absolutely!

Enjoyed my stay here. Staff polite and helpful, the room had excellent facilities. Our window faced a wall so we did not experience street noise. My only complaint is that I was charged an extra $40 per night to have the sofa bed made up.

Stayed in an Executive Apartment for a couple of nights - very nicely appointed. Well located to the top end of the City which suited me. Nice and quiet position which I like. Disappointed with the breakfast and will not eat there again. But Will stay there again :)

great location, rooms clean and comfortable, bathroom tiny but servicable. Some of the appliances (bedside lamps, bedroom tv) not working but overall a good place to stay, would rebook if in the area again

The cupcakes that were given to us were awesome and a nice touch. The staff were great - friendly as well. Great position in the city.

hotel was very nice but waited for 2 hours to be checked it .. not a nice way to be greeted on your birthday the reception were rude and very unhelpful .. enjoyed my time there minus that

Was staying Studio Apartment Superior Room on Sept 2010. Room is a bit old but overall is ok.

loved the stay at mantra.. was very happy with everything that mantra had specially the nice city view from the top at night..

A lovely old style hotel with character. On the down side, the elvators are very slow and too few for the numbers of rooms and guests in the hotel. The on site dining facility is excellent and the meals are well priced. The range and quality of the food is good, as is the service.

Had everthing we needed. 15 min brisk walk to myers or rocks area in other direction. Reception helpful with map. Parking extra $50night, Wilsons have cheaper rate if staying on a sunday.

The room was nice but there was very little hot water (we virtually had cold showers), and the room they put us in before we requested to be moved looked straight into a brick wall.

A great hotel, in a great location. Had a real problem with mosquitoes though, which was the only downside

Very tired rooms in some places grotty. Its a shame in such a good location. No double glazing on the side facing George street means byo earplugs.

Very ordinary restaurant and bar facilities. Went outside hotel (close hotels) to get variety.

Great location in centre of CBD. Cheaper weekend parking at Aust Sq next door.
