Mantra Hotel On Jolimont East Melbourne

The Hotel is old and central to all places close to the city. However the hotel has changed hands so many times over the years and is now in need of a major refit. Our room was tidy and had all that we needed. A kitchen was included. However the light switch as we entered the room was faulty and wires were exposed. The toilet was running excessively and needed immeadiate attention. Skirting boards had pealing paint from wear and tear. Bathroom door handle was loose and bathroom light switch was alos loose and faulty - amazed OH&S allows this to remain. Cabinet door below the sink was only just hanging on by a thread. Despite convenience we will be looking elsewhere to stay. A little over priced for this quality

Expensive compared to hotels of similar quality, but proximity to the MCG on the night of a popular footy game was good value for money.

We had a lovely time at the Mantra Hotel On Jolimont. We stayed in a two bedroom unit that was very spacious. Our two sons enjoyed the swimming pool.

The hotel is clean and very convenient but is starting to show its age - in desperate need of upgrades to fittings, paint and furnishings. bathroom was very adequate but rather dated.

We stayed for 7 nights so it was disappointing to be allocated a room on the side closest to the train tracks (which was quite noisy). Service was patchy and rooms a bit tired looking but generally a good location to stay in if you like being close to MCG, Fitzroy Gardens etc.

I had a pleasant night staying at the Mantra. The free schuttle was very handy if you were out and about during the day. I had a meal at the restaurant and it was delicious. I only had one night booked and then moved but it would have been a bit far out of the city for an extended holiday on my own. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Overall a good stay.

Stayed at Mantra due to its great location to the MCG. It was excellent, easy walking distance to the city shopping, close to trams, safe areas to walk in & close to all the sporting venues, everything we wanted and the staff were very friendly. Our room (I'm sure it must have been an upgrade) was huge with everything you would need, very comfortable bed, comfy couch & nice views. The building and foyer are lovely, the rooms are a little dated but nothing to complain about. Rocco's Restaurant and Bar was a great place to unwind after a day's shopping.Overall, we would recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Melbourne. cheers

I have stayed at the Mantra for many years, it is in a very handy location, and the price is quite reasonable for an apartment, bed is comfortable. Things are looking a bit tired, bit of mould in the shower, airconditioning doesn't work on 7th floor - for years (heater provided) ground floor outside the lift could do with a really good scrub.. but overall it's not too bad.

We had a problem with our room and it was rectified immediately. We will be returning to this hotel, the service is fantastic.

The Hotel is clean & tidy and near to the place I needed to go so all in all is good.

The location is brillant if you are in Melbourne to see an event at the MCG. The rooms looked a bit tired however they were ideal for a short stay. Staff were friendly and helpful I would stay here again

Very good facilities and close to all the things we wanted. Great stay for us, just expensive as it seemed to be higher tariff for the grand prix.

I have stayed here before and there's always something little in the room that takes away from the comfort of the stay. Last time was a lop sided bed this time a really noisy air conditioner.

They have no room service after 9pm. We waited at the counter for over ten minutes at 11pm at night because no one was in attendance. The rooms are nice but the bathrooms could do with some reno's, as in the tiles were pretty grubby.

We were greeted and processed very curteously and directed to our room which had an excellent internal view of trees and a pool. there was also an area onto which we could walk from our room window. Breakfast was enjoyable and abundant almost to a fault.Given that we ate early the staff were very helpful.

It's a reasonable hotel, but the room they gave me was facing on to the train line and was a bit noisy. They also initially gave me a twin room (although I requested a queen bed) but they were happy to change this once I went back down to see them.

We enjoyed our stay at the Mantra very much and will return again when we are in Melbourne next. Service and rooms were great and the staff were very friendly. Location was great.

Fantastic hotel. Excellent friendly service from check-in until check-out. Would definitely recommend to others and stay again.
