Mantra Portsea Port Douglas

Disappointed that I requested a queen bed and received 2 single beds pushed together of which they were varying heights so there was a ridge in the middle of the bed. It made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. Also dissapointed to be put in a room near the rubbish and laundry diposal. I stayed 4 nights and was woken EVERY morning at 7:15am by rubbish collectors. Not a very restful or relaxing stay. Bit poor that you have to pay for extra tea, coffee, sugar etc.

About ten minutes walk into the town area; but there is a bus stop opposite with a frequent service into town. Very good access to the beach with a walk way adjacent to the hotel. Secure area for left luggage if you have a late transfer. Lounge area for early arrivals with TV and internet access. The pool and spa areas are very good, popular with families during our stay. The reception staff were very helpful. The hotel looked as if it has been recently refurbished. We stayed in a double room, which had everything we needed for a short stay. The suites looked good for a longer stay.

Beds were comfortable. There's no room service at the weekends,if you need clean towels or anything else you have to collect it at the reception. Great locations quick walk to town centre or the beach.

Room was small, had a musky smell to it. It hadn't been cleaned properly. There was no milk to make tea/coffee. Poor in our view.

My husband and I stayed at the Mantra Portsea this last week while on holiday in Port Douglass. The location was great, close to town. The front desk was great! Very helpful! The pool area was beautiful! The rooms were average though, nothing special. Bed wasn't very comfortable and sofa's were dirty on armrests. Also, there's no maid service, you trade out your used towels at front desk. And your only given intial bathroom supplies. Once you run out you have to buy your own.

Excellent place to stay in Port Douglas.....i wish their breakfast didn't finish so early.

Room was nice & clean, room was not serviced daily but not a problem to get fresh towels from reception if required. All the staff very helpful & friendly. We had a hire car which made it easy to visit main shopping & eating strip, if you dont have a car it would be about a 15 min. walk one way. Would stay again. Like all the Hotels / Resorts up there pools are not heated so the water can be on the cold side. Apart from that would reccomend staying.

Room ok except for so many stairs to get to it. No elevator so you need to be fit if on level 2. Tree at level of balcony felt a little invasive. Need a vehicle or bus to go to town unless again you are fit and like walking.

breakfast excellent as much as you want

The resort looks very beautiful. It's clean. The location is good. We stayed there during June, and I would say that they could improve the place in a number of ways: - Heating the pool during winter (hardly anyone used the pool as a result) - Extending the hours of the breakfast service - Providing more cheap snacks at the pool bar, e.g. toasted sandwiches. - providing bikes to ride into town (20 min walk, not 10) - Often, there was no one at reception But overall it was very good value for price we paid (AU$114pn).

It was lovely. I'd recommend it to anyone!

Room had not been properly cleaned. Food rubbish was still in the kitchen bin, and was so smelly we couldn't open the cupboard throughout our stay. My feet went black from walking around on the dirty floor. Asked to have the room cleaned, staff were very nice but in four days no-one turned up.

We had an excellent family holiday at the Mantra Portsea.

Definately a family resort. As a couple, we were expecting a quiter place.

This hotel's design is so lovely. The water features add so much to the tropical feel of the hotel. The staff was so helpful and friendly. We will stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

Had a super stay here. Hotel very very nice though room a little small. Bathroom spacious and everything clean. Staff very helpful. Would definately recommend and stay again.

Would recommend to stay in an apartment as the hotel rooms are small and on the bottom floor.

Fantastic place to stay. Great room overlooking the pool. Will recommend this resort to our friends. Reception were friendly and very helpful. Plenty to choose from at the buffet breakfast.

We had great time in Port Douglas. Break Free PortSea has exellent reception, good breakfast but dining is bad: evening we wanted seafood and receive junkfood instead.

Very helpful staff. Great Breakfast. Close to the action.
