Very quiet hotel close to all facilities.Good buffet breakfast in nice surrounds.
Maria Elena Palace was in the perfect location for sightseeing and central to most things in Madrid.Just a few minutes walk to the Metro, Sol or Sevilla stations. While giving good value for money (we had breakfast buffet included in the price) the bar prices were extortionate being charged 7.90 euros for a small glass of wine & 10.00 euros for a gin & tonic. The room was large, spacious and very comfortable and serviced daily. It was a bit noisy as we were at the front but I guess it would be quieter if you were towards the back of the hotel. The room had a safe which we were not charged for and also a mini bar which again was very expensive so we didn't use it.Overall a very enjoyable stay and we would visit again.
A lovely hotel in an excellent location, very handy for all the major attractions without the noise generally involved in a central city location.
matresses were the hardest I have ever slept on. Got stuck on the street side and was very noisy and rowdy. 2:30 a m the trash was picked up. The food and bar were great.
1) Very good location, modern and good interiors 2) Staff are not helpful and not very polite 3) Hotel is on a street which can get noisy sometimes 4) Breakfast was good but a bit expensive 5) Not a lot of of English-speaking channels on TV in room
A very nice hotel in perfect location - really quiet area although in the centre (quite unbelievable for Madrid!). Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel worth recommending. Affordable rates with hotelclub. For sure I will stay there again.
Excellent hotel position and friendly helpful staff. Would definitely stay again. Leeds
Overall great hotel and location. In the centre, walking distance to major places of interest but not noisy at night time. Good price because the breakfast and taxes were included - it could otherwise be a little expensive.
Very helpfull staff. Generally a good deal for the money, especially due to quiet room and totally central location. The hotel does need to pay more attention to detail to deserve four stars. For instance, a highly visible missing plug on a hairdryer was not spotted and fixed on the staff's own initiative. No English language tv channel available and the expected internet Wi-Fi did not exist. Would on balance still recommend to others and use again.
This is a very good hotel, centrally situated in Madrid but still on a quiet street.
The staff of the hotel were very helpful. Parking is a problem even to unload and load suitcases.
Great Hotel, good location, really enjoyed our stay
we were very impressed with the hotel and staff. the only downfall was when you went outside the hotel and there was ladies waiting around in some doorway's!! this was very close to the hotel and made it a bit seedy. but everything else was lovely. regards, mrs mc cullagh
An excellent hotel near the centre of Madrid, ideal for our short stay, friendly staff, good food, comfortable accommodation, and spacious area in which to relax, watch TV, enjoy a drink and meet (new) friends...
We stayed 5 nights in Maria Elena Palace Hotel Madrid. The location is great in that it is just 3 mintues walk to the bustling Puerta Del Sol and the Sol Metro. However, it is located in a backstreet parallel to the main road Calle de Alcala. If travelling alone (especially for a lady), this may not be an ideal choice. Service is not 4 star as rated. Service staff and receptionists are not as helpful when we approached them.
Perfectly located in a very calm side street, still in the very center of Madrid. Excellent breakfast. Kind and helpful front desk service.
