Marque Hotel Canberra

A very nice hotel. Fairly close to the city centre with lots of restaurants and shops a short walk way. The hotel was very clean and the room was nice. Staff were friendly. A good place to stay in Canberra.

Clean, comfortable and well located, but rooms looking a bit tired.

Good location, not far from the food outlets. Breakfast OK. The place could do with a revamp and scrub. Bed comfortable and staff very nice.

Some facilities a bit old and tired - A/C made inermittent clicking noise, and dripped water onto bench and back of table where we had put some of our things; old TV with temperamental remote - obliging staff member came promptly to our room to help; shower taps a bit stiff. But great location, friendly obliging staff, good value, generous breakfast.

Good clean hotel, obviously more of a business hotel than a pleasure hotel, however staff were extremely helpful. The swimming pool could have been heated to make it more comfortable as such it got very little use while we were there. Good central location, I would make a return visit.

Good place to stay but the room attendents need to take more care when replenishing Tea, sugar etc. as we had to ask 2 days in a row either for tea, milk and also a hand towel for bathroom.

Room was spacious but bathroom was a bit cramped. Quite expensive but it was located along Northbourne.

We had a lovely big room with modern furniture and a lovely back- drop of trees. The bathroom needed renovating but was adequate. Other facilities, like the dining room and drinks lounge were quite modern and clean. We were within walking distance of all that we required and so enjoyed strolling down the tree-lined Northbourne Avenue. A bus stop was also just outside the hotel and so transport was very accessible. We would definitely stay there again as the location and the price we were able to get from The Hotel Club was much cheaper than other web sites we looked at.

Excellent location. Bath tub hand grab rail came off the first night of a three night stay and just remained on bathroom floor. Full set of towels not provided each day ie, either bath mat or hand towel missing on 2nd and 3rd days. No bags provided for used sanitary products. Carpet and curtains stained. Friendly staff.

Stayed here for Floriade (Saturday night only). Did not have breakfast included in package. Did not use pool (it was closed). Did not use any of the facilities apart from room. Wireless internet require password from reception. (Assume there is a fee if not included in your package). Bathroom door does not open fully as it clashed with toilet. TV outdated. eg poor remote response.

If you don't mind a hotel that is a bit tired and warn (old carpet a bit stained etc) but has quiet comfortable rooms and is close to the centre of Canberra, then this is a great place to stay. We had a room over looking the pool so we were away from any traffic noise. Good, free off street parking. We would stay again.

3 night stay pleasant & comfortable weather cold but motel very warm. Log fire a nice touch in bar area.Daily newspaper for no charge appreciated.

My son and I were happy with everything except the making of the beds was average. They looked liked they were pulled up very quickly. Room service/breakfast was good, staff was very nice. I would recommend this hotel. It is also very central to main city centre, Civic. And I found the rates quite reasonable.

The whole hotel was woken by a false fire alarm 2:00 o'clock in the morning. There was unfortunately no explaination or apology from management the next day.
