Getting there:On exit from airport, take the freeway, following sign-posted directions to the city. Exit onto Flemington Road and follow to the end. At the roundabout at the end, turn right into Elizabeth Street. Turn left at the fourth intersection into Lonsdale Street. Hotel is located three blocks down on the left.

Excellent location specially for those interested in Melbourne's theatre scene. Great choice of dining in near surrounding, including China Town and Greek precinct. We had breakfast included and buffet is just fantastic. Staff is very friendly and helpful, room clean and beds comfortable (even sofa-bed that we were using as there was four of us) All in all very good value for money.

We only stayed for one night, but our stay was very good. All of the staff were courteous and cheerful. Enjoyed the champagne and strawberries on arrival as well!!
A pretty good hotel in Melbourne. Location is good for Bourke Street and some theatres, but a long way from Arts Centre/ Gallery and Southbank.
5 Star room and facilities, Amazing Service and impecable Staff, will always use this hotel when staying in Melbourne. Credit where it is due!

Although this hotel is undergoing the trauma of a massive refurbishment programme, the staff coped well and there was as little disturbance as possible. This upgrading is long overdue as the hotel rooms are dated and not up to the usual standards expected of a Marriott Hotel. The location is excellent and the Restaurant and Bar staff were very good and attentive but not over powering. I always stay at this hotel when in Melbourne due to its great location and it will be a huge bonus to have modernised rooms and hopefully the Executive Floor Lounge will be similarly upgraded and supplied with new comfortable furniture.

The hotel was well situated for our purpose. The room looked a bit tired! The staff were friendly. The front desk manager had a complaint because we used MASTERCARD instead of VISA----did not quite follow what he was on about.
The hotel is well sited and the reception staff are very good and welcoming. The rooms are not very large but adequate. The bathrooms are small and lack a separate shower. Room service cleanliness is good. The Executive Lounge is only fair and compares very badly with the JW Marriott in Bangkok. I think that the prices are quite high for the quality of product and do not compare very favourably with the Bangkok Marriott offer. I stay at a 5 star hotel in New York at the same price but the rooms and facilities are substantially better there.
My daughter and I stayed at the Marriott last week and had a wonderful experience all round. The hotel itself was a little disappointing only inasmuch as it needs a facelift or perhaps more specifically modernisation. The room was a very generous size, the bathroom clean. The fridge was awkward to open. The dusting needed attention. But on the whole not unpleasant. Good value as we managed a 4 for 3 deal. However, the hotel staff were outstanding!!! They just couldn't do enough for us...from finding us the best restaurants nearby to getting the chefs to especially bake scones on our last day as we had a craving for scones and tea. Freshly baked scones on demand, not bad! The pool and gym were a bit disappointing. The food in the restaurant was top class, as was the table service. I would definitely stay there again.
Hotel showing it's age a little bit. Wallpaper peeling off walls in corridor. Breakfast fairly average and staff were not very freindly. Overall fairly average for a 5 star hotel.
There was a bit of a mix up between the hotel club site and the hotel itself, firstly they don't have smoking rooms, and then they tried to charge us for the breakfast and parking when they were supposed to be included. But it was really no big deal. The room was gorgeous and the beds are extremely comfortable! The only thing that we weren't happy with was the pool, they said it was heated but it wasn't.
Nice big room, but very small TV and very small bed. Also the room service and internet was too expensive. I wouldn't stay there again, as there are better hotels in this price range.
When staying on the lower level floors, depending on the day of the week, some street noise can be heard.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and it made our stay a pleasure. Great job!
