Although the resort is undergoing major renovations, the quality of the food was excellent, as was the friendly service.
Great Hotel but disappointed that I was not advised - at the time of the booking - that the hotel was undergoing a 420M refurbishment as a result of which many facilities - main dining room - were not available. Will stay again at the Marriott but hopefully next time if I need alate check out - 3 hours - I will not be quote $50!! What a pity that one of the best hotels I have stayed at has left a "sour" taste because of a couple of minor problems.
Once again an excellent stay at this hotel. Although hotel is dated it has that old world charm and elegance. I was told that they are in the process of redecorating and was given an upgrade on my last night. The newly renovated rooms are fresh and crisp. The entire stay has meet with my very high standards and I will be back at least 2 more times this year. Well done Marriott your staff and hotel complimented your hotel brand.

Hotel room was very spacious and clean with great views of the ocean and lagoon pool. Japanese resturante and downstairs lounge were great atmosphere with good food and drinks, Seafood buffet was a tad disappointing with not a great selection of seafood. Activities desk assistant could have been more informative and friendly however the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall was a great stay and would definately stay there again in the future!
We had a great stay at the Marriott Resort and Spa. Staff were very helpful, though we did have a bit of a queue for checking in and at breakfast as it was very busy at the weekend. Facilities were great and the lagoon and pool is a nice touch. We were going to go out for dinner, but the restaurant looked great so we stayed and had dinner in. Very reasonable prices and the buffet looked excellent, though we went for the wood fired pizza's. Room was pretty standard, but clean, though we knew this before we booked and really went for the pool and lagoon. Can't comment on the spa facilities as we didn't use them. On the whole a very enjoyable stay.
Don't pat 36dollar for the breakfast should u book a room only package as a coffee club breakfast @9.90 can easily beat it by taste and value! Their double bed is not really that big, best for one adult or maximum together with a kid, never try it with two adult as it is not suitable! Lagoon swimming pool is great! Is not actually not walking distance to surfer paradise which I find quite a pity, it is really nice to stay close enough to all the restaurants and shops for tourists
Having stayed at other hotels in Surfers Paradise, the Marriott had a much better resort feel. Excellent facilities, service and 'feel'.

The hotel is what I expected and more. I will not hesitate to stay here again when we return to the Gold Coast. My children absolutely loved it there- they didn't want to leave!
The hotel room was clean and tidy. The fittings were nice and the bath was quite big for a hotel room. However, the room did look like it was in desperate need of a makeover and had not been updated for a while (ie. the bright green carpet indicated this). The TV was a large plasma but not HD. The room service was not very good and definitely not what I would expect of a 5 star hotel or even a 4 star hotel.
Excellent hotel and resort, fantastic swimming pool - for kids and adults alike. Only downside is the location - just wish it was a bit closer to the beach without having to cross busy roads etc.

I asked for early check-in, however there's no room available instead she said they will call me at 2 pm when the room is available. I waited till 2.10 but there was no call so I went to the reception myself. The hotel lagoon is very impressive..had a good swim in the morning.
The lagoon and the pool are the attraction. The rooms are nice, however, probably haven't been renovated in 15 years. It is at the northern end of Surfers, but easily within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is probably the best you will find on the coast. Once you check in you will find you never leave the resort as everything you want or need is here.
Stayed for my son's 9th birthday treat and we all loved it! The lagoon and pool area is well set out but son was disappointed that the water slide was not working. Only complaint was that we requested 2 double beds but got 1 king so we didn't have a good nights sleep for the 3 of us, otherwise lovely couple of days stay.
very nice rooms. Food expensive, need to walk about 15 minutes to find other food outlets.
