Matamanoa was a wonderfull getaway. It was private and quiet which was just what we were looking for. There was no shortage of activities provided so you can be as active as you want. We will definately be returning.
A fantastic location and super friendly staff made for a thoroughly enjoyable Fiji experience. Be aware though that, depending on the season, some of the sand might be washed away - when we stayed at Matamanoa, unfortunately the white sandy beaches you see on resort pictures had for the large part been swept away. Still some good spots to swim off, alternatively the hotel boat will take guests to some good snorkling spots on the nearby reef just off the island.

The bure's are beautiful, spacious and well maintained. I would be disappointed though if we had have stayed in one of their hotel rooms which are quite basic. The staff are super friendly and there's lots of activities available. The setting is beautiful, serene and private. A great place for a holiday.
Matamanoa is paradise!! The price is good compared to other resorts too. The waters are beautiful. Can just walk off the island and go snorkelling, swimming... the views are amazing. Great place to relax and unwind and the staff are so friendly.
The island is perfect for those wanting a place in Fiji that is child-free but not overly pricey. It is peaceful and quiet, with an excellent range of activities and fantastic snorkling. The staff are wonderful and friendly and the beach front bures are excellent. The only downside were the flights to and from Fiji being packed with small children and babies. My tip - Don't stay on the mainland if you want a tropical Fijian, relaxing experience - go to Matamanoa!
