MEININGER Hotel Cologne City Center

well its a hostel with a good bar and in a good location. It all looked clean and the staff were helpful

The best price for a location near the City Centre, friendly people, clean. Restaurant and pubs nearby.

It was better than expected for a Hostel, The front desk people were very nice and helpful. They also spoke english very well. The hotel is about a mile from the cathederal and river. There are many banks and places to eat also near by.

the staffs were quite efficent and friendly. Room was small but expected. pretty good showers in the bathroom. kinda noisy at night (lift / stairs noise carrys), close to town though (15mins walk to the Alt Markt). Pretty decent place for the price.

Good hotel just just besides the old town center. Clean. Bar open all night (in case you can't find the old town center).

have stayed in a single room, which was very small, but ok if you just need to stay a night. It was clean, both room and also the bathroom. I have arrived very late and although warned the hostel about late arrival, it took some time to get in - actualy the receptionist have not heard the bell as have been also working in a bar and only reacted when I have called the phone. Otherwise he was very nice and provided me with full information. A little bit bitter taste have left the accident in the morning - I have asked to call me a taxi, as had to be on time for an important meeting, but this taxi has never arrived. The girl on the reception did not seem to care much about it. After some time I have realized that probably I wil not get my taxi, so had to rush to the main street to catch at least some transport :) To sum it up, it is definetly value for the money if you just need to spend the night - clean and location ok, also breakfast was ok.

As I was completely new to Cologne I got off the train and didn't know where to go or how to arrive at the Hostel. But I called up and the receptionist (it turns out all three shifts of reception) were very helpful and guided me. I liked the neighborhood, it had a local feel to it with many little restaurants of all kinds on the surrounding blocks very close to the Hostel. My room was a double with private bath and it was simple yet clean and bright. We liked the breakfast in the morning, basic breads and rolls, coffee and juice but well worth it. The bathroom was clean, good pressure in the shower, they turned on the steam heat as appropriate because winter is coming. At the end we took advantage of our free welcome drink and we stored our luggage in the storage room after checkout. Internet service is available in the lobby or wireless for a small fee.

Excellent hostel and great location in Koln!

I was VERY pleased with this hostel/hotel! The prices are very valuable and including breakfast, which isn't so common in hostels. I can recommend this place for anyone. It was easy to find it and the U-Bahn and tram were just around the corner.
