Melanesian Hotel Port Vila

Generally ok although very noisy at night for those of us with young children.

S... and J... from the tours office went out of their way to look after us. The hotel is showing its age, but it is in a good location and has all the essentials. I would stay there again for sure.

A nice place to stay, within walking distance of the markets and township. The only problems we encountered was that the water was only luke warm for a cuppa in the mornings at breakfast. Small problem as everything else was spot on!

Was told all rooms had view of pool area and ours was of driveway and a vacant lot. Otherwise was very happy.

Location is just convenient for a business trip (no view of Port Vila or the sea but only over the swimming pool ...) and all the staff is very courteous and attentive.

The hotel is nice and it's really close to town but if like us you're going to Vanuatu to relax and see beach, then DON'T STAY HERE! No beach in site... just the dirty dirty town! They have a GREAT restaurant called 'The Thai' though which has fabulous food!

The hotel is ideally situated just five minutes walk from the centre of Port Vila. The pool is open 7am-9pm during which time the bar is open for drinks and snacks. Shaded tables are povided so you can avoid the mid-day sun. There is also a bus stop at the entrance, which is handy should you wish to use the local transport, which, incidentally is good. All the hotel staff are very friendly.

Happy to stay there again.

A wonderful stay in a wonderful place. Good attentive and extrememly friendly staff. Clean, well serviced and close to everything.

Courteous, friendly staff. Easy walking distance into Vila some people might find the return uphill not easy. Interesting local band and dancing on Wednesday and Saturday night

My husband & I we just spend a few days @Melanesian Hot.Vanuatu and we are very glad with the choise , because is very central as for location, able to walk to places within few minutes only 5m. town, or catch transport easly to go far.Also the facilities @ resort to spend a relaxing day were idel&confortable.We indeed recomend it very much. Also we hope to go back there next year!!!!!

A fantastic hotel with wonderful facilities and Staff. I would recommend the Orchid rooms as the air conditioner was a godsend. The BBQ Buffet was fabulous along with the poolside customary dances that they displayed. The new Thai restaurant is lovely and the Casino is great for a little flutter. The Staff are very accomodating and the meals are beautiful. The continental breakfast was refreshing first thing in the morning and had a vast variety of foods. Nothing was too much trouble for the Staff. I reccomend geting a full body massage (1 hour) from Rina's Beauty shop which is situated in the Hotel grounds. We will definitely be back to this Hotel as it was great value for money.

We enjoyed the cultural entertainment which was held at the Melanesian Hotel. The Melanesian Hotel was close to the centre of Port Vila. The shops and markets were within walking distance. The bus service which was outside the hotel was very regular.

This place needs some work done...Everything looks dated. Breakfast was included but was hardly worth attending and the restaurant was nothing special at all. Compared to other resorts in Vila the pool at the melanesian was good & fairly big in comparision, we spent most of our hotel-time here. Staff are friendly & efficient also. Location is a handy walk to town. Rooms were average however I do recommend rooms overlooking the pool area as the other ones seem very disconnected. Just make sure you get the cheapest rate around, we saw this place advertised for double what we paid...extremely far fetched i thought.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at the Melanesian. We had previously stayed at both Le Lagon & Le Meridien in Vanuatu and although Le Meridien has to be better than the Melanesian, in terms of value for $ we would recommend the Melenisian.

A very central location in Port Vila, with all necessary facilities and staff that are excellent. Excellent value for money. I have booked to stay again.
