Getting there:From Madrid-Barajas Airport: take the N-II road towards the city centre, continue along Mara de Molina until you find Calle Serrano. Take it and then turn left into Calle Diego de Leon, where you will see the Meli Galgos Hotel, at the corner with Calle Claudio Coello. Underground stations nearby: Gregorio Maraon, Nuez de Balboa, Avenida de Amrica, Ruben Daro.

SINGLE ROOM WAS TINY EVERYTHING ELSE JUST FINE. ROOMS GIVING ON THE COURT SIDE ON THE SECOND FLOOR HAVE VERY LITTLE LIGHT

Well situated in the heart of the Salamanca district. Within easy reach of Metro stations and plenty of bus routes. Good quality hotel with an excellent rate (at least on this ocasion). Friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend.
The Melia Galgos is located in the lovely Salamanca area and is just 500mtrs from C/Serrano with it's wonderfull shops. There are quite a number of good places to eat close to the hotel (La Farmacia/Jose Luis). There is a bit of a walk to the metro Nunez Balboa. For a first visit to Madrid perhaps somewhere closer to the center but as a regular visitor this was an ideal location for my requirements. Will certainly consider the Melia Galgos for a return visit.
Nice rooms, excellent breakfast, but air conditioning not working properly - we had to open the windows for hours (fortunately it wasn't summer) - otherwise, the room (336) would be unbearably hot, even with the heating off. TV set (14") could be larger. The 3 steps before the elevator are a (minor) hurdle when carrying luggage...
Very comfortable, very cosy bedroom. Could sleep undisturbed through the morning. Fabulously located in quiet side-street and yet right in the heart of the prestigious Salamanca district Staff project a very professional attitude and hotel has a definite 5 star aura, making you feel you are getting more than you paid for. Will be back !
