"By comparison to a previous stay, the refurbishment seemed to make things worse. The room was tiny, and even though on the 12th floor, quite noisy at night because of the sound of traffic. It took several telephone calls to get an answer from room service. One elevator was out of action - and the other a bit of an ordeal because of the sounds produced! With satellite television advertised, it was a disappointment not be be able to get SKY news or the BBC news service. Overall, a hotel that promises more than it delivers. Hotel description:    Completely renovated in 2008 and located just steps away from Madrid main square '' Plaza de España'', this modern Hotel offers spectacular views of the Royal Palace and Casa de Campo. Perfectly situated within walking distance of Gran Via, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Madrid's main museums (Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sofía). In addition, a Metro stop can be found right at the entrance of the hotel allowing convenient travel to the airport or Madrid's main local attractions.

The hotel offers 274 spacious contemporary luminous rooms, all with superb views. All rooms offer surcharge access to our Spa and indoor pool. Getting there: How to get to the Hotel from the Barajas International Airport:
Distance: 13 Km.
Transport:
TAXI: 20-35 minutes, approx. 18/21 Euros.
AUTOBUS: 25 minutes, 2,5 Euros.
Bus service from Plaza de Colón to Barajas International Airport and vice versa (every 12 minutes from 4:45 am to 10 pm and every 30 minutes from 10 pm to 1:17 am. From Plaza Colón take the underground (line 4) from Colón to Argüelles, the closest station to the Hotel (one way ticket: 1,10 Euros) or a taxi (approx. 6 Euros).
UNDERGROUND: (approx. 40 minutes; one way ticket 1,10 Euros, special 10 ticket-fare 5,20 Euros, valid on buses too).
Line 8 from Barajas to Mar de Cristal, then change and take line 4 to Argüelles. Price ticket 1,10 euros. Another option is to take line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios then change and take line 10 to Plaza de España.
Luxury Limousine transport: booking required. Approximate cost: 55 Euros.
