Melia Puerto Vallarta

We were a family of fourteen staying at the Melia for a week. This is the 4 th Melia Resort we have stayed at over many years. The resort is located near the airport and easy to get to. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The pool is crystal clear and well cared for...there are plenty of lounges including beach lounges and palapas available. The beach vendors were all so nice and willing to help all the kids with their attempts to speak Spanish. The activity team worked hard to keep the resort lively and get everyone involved. We paid extra for the Melia experience...nothing special. Maintenance of our room and housekeeping was below par. Mixed reviews on the hotel/desk staff....some more helpful than others. Definitely the hotel and staff were geared for Mexican vacationers, every step of our stay. There was an obvious lack of attention to the American travelers. However , the bar service around the pool was awesome. We had Benjamin for the entire week and he gets our 5 star rating for all he did to attend to our family everyday,all day...with a smile. Dining in the reserved restaurants was lovely..our night at the Grill was the best!

Location very good,staff very friendly and nice,did not like the beach, very boring evenings.

The Melia was a fabulous place for us to stay. We had a group of 12 altogether...I thought it might be a problem as far as eating together but it wasnt at all-the staff was very accomadating. Every one of the staff we encountered was very friendly and personable. Their English was great, luckily for us! Food and drinks were generous and we loved the all inclusive aspect, not having to think about money beyond a few pesos for tips. Tons of activities for all ages. We will absolutely be back!

Great time at the resort plenty of activities included. The beach wasn't as nice as others in the area but the swim up bar at the pool made up for it. The buffets were way better than the table service resturants. We were concerned about the crime reported in the news but found it very safe and cheap to get around by taxi and buses. GREAT TIME!!!

I was disappointed that there was such a small beach area; couldn't take a walk on the beach as I had hoped. Buffet was typical; always the same.

I was a little surprised at the way that staff treated the guests. Probably the biggest complaint I heard from random travelers the whole week. The room was small, but nice. The pool was gigantic. I don't remember if this hotel said they had premium alcohol, but it didn't. (well, it did, for a charge) Overall, a great little trip. We had great people in our party, and the food was good at the italian restaurant. we played vollyball and got pretty toasty. Hard not to have fun.. The lobby bar late at night was a good time too..Hope this helps..

Our experience with this hotel, has been nothing but fabulous. The resort is very clean, very well maintained. Spoiled at times with chocolates , flowers, towel animals left on the bed.The hotel staff here is very friendly (always smiling) and very helpful. A big "Oh Yeah" to the restaurant staff. The entertainment shows that were put on in the evenings were awesome, they were entertaining for people of all ages. Location is good to 5 minutes from airport, 10 minute ride to dowtown. The ocean view is spectacular.

A very clean well run resort with good food selections and a very friendly,helpful staff. Perhaps not a place to stay if nightlife and partying is the goal but if you need a quiet place to recharge and rest it would be hard to do better.

The food was great for an all-inclusive. The bartenders and waiters provide excellent service. The pool area has plenty of shade spots so there's really no need to play the towel game. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There are many birds, iguanas, and fish. The entertainment staff was attentive and eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
