cheap and cheerful but the shower didn't work and breakfast served to late for those who catch early trains out (it is close to St Pancras / Kings Cross).
We were a gay couple staying in this hotel recently. We chose this hotel because of it's convenient location - close to underground and a train station we arived to. The city center is also not far away - we reached it after a half an hour of relaxed walk. Another reason why we chose this hotel is that it provided free WiFi. Some facilities seems to be renovated recently - partly rooms and bathrooms completely. Bathrooms, however, are very tiny in this hotel. Another drawback of this hotel is that TV set in our room was also quite small and it only had 4 or 5 public channels available. One more thing that was quite funny is that stairs to upper floors are covered with a thick layer of carpet. The staff in this hotel were eastern europeans. As we are also eastern europeans we did not have any troubles with the staff. Our overall impression about this hotel is rather good than bad.
A decent middle-class hotel. No frills, but good value for money and a convenient location. Easy access from Heathrow, the same underground line all the way
Breakfast excellent. Room size good, bathroom small but adequate for a short overnight stay.
Again no air-con and on the odd hot days in London that means a hot room. A very small bar of soap was provided- no shampoo, conditioner or shower soap. I stayed here twice and the first room was much better having a double bed and plenty of room. The second stay I was on the thrid floor which meant a very narrow winding stairway...if you are elderly or have loads of luggage, make sure you are on floors 1 or 2. It was a real struggle and could be quite scary. The upside is that it is in a beautiful area of Kingscross, quiet with plenty of nice Pubs around. St Pancras Station is a 5 min walk so if you are travelling north of England or on Eurostar it is perfect. Kingscross station is also only 5 mins walk and perfect for going to the theatre district (Bakerloo Line) and Heathrow (Picadilly line I think) - these are both direct. Kings Cross is certainly not the dive it use to be.
Excellent location just 5-10 minutes walk from Russell Square tube, Kings Cross and St Pancras (Eurostar) stations.
The room was a decent size and quite clean. The bedding was also clean and fresh. My only complaint was that taking even a short shower resulted in a soaking wet bathroom floor, but I think this is fairly common in European hotels. The carpeting throughout the hotel could use an overhaul but that was really minor given the good price, nice rooms and friendly service. It's a 4 story walk-up, so request a room on a low floor if you don't feel like climbing (although our room was on the 4th floor which was lovely because it was VERY quiet). Overall, the hotel is quite quiet because it's across the street from a park and there isn't a lot of traffic. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
Good breakfast, close to station for Eurostar.
At price paid, good value for money. Only issues were squeeky floors and beds.
This is a great little hotel, conveniently located just off the Euston Road, but in a quiet crescent. Rooms are very comfortable, and breakfast is great, included in the very reasonable price. Have stayed here before and will stay again
Very handy for trains and tubes. Accomodation very clean and great service.
For this class of hotel my room was more than adequate and actually very quiet - a big plus from my point of view.
The hotel looked a bit jaded and could do with a face lift but for the price it was good value, nice clean cotten sheets and the breakfast was lovely.
A simple but sympathetic hotel in a quiet location next to a park. It is very well located (5 min walk) for an early morning Eurostar departure from St Pancras. I had a single room on the top floor, somewhat small but adequate and with a recently renovated shower/WC. I will return if the opportunity arises.
we had a quad room in second floor and very happy about the hotel. room was big enough and bathroom new. beds were really nice to sleep! breakfast was good- lots to eat-half served -half self service. hotel location was quiet- no noice at night time! would go definetely again!
Generally good. Location great. Service average. Didn't even have a spare pillow when we asked! Breakfast ok.
I expect the hotel facilities to be OK but I was disappointed with the bath room. There was no bath tub and there was no shower gel. Apart from that disappointment, the overall of the hotel was OK. The location is excellent for travelling around central London and out of London. It is only a few minutes walk to close by tube stations and railway stations. It is still considered a place to stay.
10 min's walk from Kings Cross/ St Pancras, 5 Min's from Euston, 5 Min's from Russell Sq U'ground - good location! Hotel needs some money spending on it but was clean and staff were friendly. Plenty of back street eateries and local pubs serving food. Overall 7/10.
The staff in this hotel were superb a rare thing at UK hotels. The hotel it's self is a litttle old and tatty but the service more than made up for it. The breakfasts served were also excellent. Overall very good value for money.
small room but clean and tidy and had everything I needed.
