"Again no air-con and on the odd hot days in London that means a hot room. A very small bar of soap was provided- no shampoo, conditioner or shower soap. I stayed here twice and the first room was much better having a double bed and plenty of room. The second stay I was on the thrid floor which meant a very narrow winding stairway...if you are elderly or have loads of luggage, make sure you are on floors 1 or 2. It was a real struggle and could be quite scary. The upside is that it is in a beautiful area of Kingscross, quiet with plenty of nice Pubs around. St Pancras Station is a 5 min walk so if you are travelling north of England or on Eurostar it is perfect. Kingscross station is also only 5 mins walk and perfect for going to the theatre district (Bakerloo Line) and Heathrow (Picadilly line I think) - these are both direct. Kings Cross is certainly not the dive it use to be." - Terrence Hopkins

"The room was a decent size and quite clean. The bedding was also clean and fresh. My only complaint was that taking even a short shower resulted in a soaking wet bathroom floor, but I think this is fairly common in European hotels. The carpeting throughout the hotel could use an overhaul but that was really minor given the good price, nice rooms and friendly service. It's a 4 story walk-up, so request a room on a low floor if you don't feel like climbing (although our room was on the 4th floor which was lovely because it was VERY quiet). Overall, the hotel is quite quiet because it's across the street from a park and there isn't a lot of traffic. I'd definitely recommend this hotel." - Rachel Colley
