We were very pleasantly surprised at how much they offered their guests by way of activities. Unfortunately we could not stay longer but we will go back there for a holiday. Seems perfect for families with kids. Staff were just great !
very beautiful place 2 mins to private beach the best I've ever seen -i am a frequent traveller,2 huge pools ,bars ,resturant, cafe ,lots of free parking ,shop but I didnt go so can't say, lots of free activites -impossiable to have free or boring time ,5-10 mins drive into town -dont know about public transport but have shuttle at cost.lovely staff only downside no dvd player in room plus SOME furnitures getting old.would love to go back.transport recommended.

Great place to take the children. So many activities they can do as part of the package makes it espcially attractive.
We were pleasantly suprised to be given a room on the top floor with terrific sea views even though we booked at a discounted rate. Facilities were great and made up for dated decor of room. Noise from other occupants was very minimal. Very happy with stay.
Pool and gardens are beautiful but whole resort needs upgrading. Pool has tiles that need replacing but is still very clean. Rooms are dated some areas have been repainted but regular maintenance is required to keep 4-5 star ratings. Mouldy ceilings and bathroom and dirty hallways. Mum, Dad + 3 - Australia
The resort was wonderful, but the room we were allocated was not very good - overlooking the back dock!!!!
Resort grounds were beautiful. Loved the pool and gardens. Staff were wonderful, especially breakfast crew. Very happy and bubbly. A lovely start to the day. Only disappointment was the room. Very dated. View beautiful. Furnishings and bed covers were old and past their use by date. I would love to come back.
This was a disappointing holiday. They really need to provide more activities if the weather is not very good. With constant rain most outdoor activities are not available (except swimming in the pool). The inhouse movie system does NOT work. Apparently it's over 10 years old and sort of works some times - it's very annoying. I spent over 4 hours trying to watch a movie that I only saw about 1/2 (3 times). It just locks up & the rewind / fast forward is delayed and has a mind of it's own! The lunch time options were limited (only a cafe) and we got sick of eating the same thing each lunch time. Some of the staff are extremely good particularly the restaurant staff. When it's raining they shouldn't charge you $10 for a lift into town - this should be complementary as there's nothing else to do!
Breakfast & Dinner were excellent though a little pricey Lack of Lunch options was dissapointing (cafe or take-away only) The whole 4 days I was there the spa didn't work and there seemed no priority to get it fixed. The movie channel didn't work properly either - 2hrs to watch 1/3 of a movie (twice). The weather was bad so we really needed other alternatives - as all beach activities were closed. The shuttle to town should be free - you feel trapped if the weather is bad because of the limited activities available - some form of organised indoor group activities would have been a good option.
The rooms in Rydges Hotel are looking rather tired and in need of major refurbishment. The location and surrounds of the resort are excellent as are the facilities (large pool, plenty of activities for the kids, 2 golf courses etc), however, our room was rather dirty when we checked in at 4.00pm and the beds had rather uncomfortable dead spot in the middle of the matress due to advanced age. The room was quite large and we had a nice view from our balcony over the capricorn coast. Overall, the resort has several attractive features, but the rooms are expensive given the quality and state of the fitting.
Had a double room instead of a twin as booked. Staff supplied a rollaway bed for my son. Apart from this mix up, every other aspect of the stay was ideal.
As a family of 5, we only spent one night at this resort, on routte to Great Keppel Island. During this time however we packed in quite a lot, the resorts main swimming pool had a water slide, waterfall, and volleyball nets up, which our kids loved. The rooms were clean and tidy, and there was undercover parking for our car. We did not dine in the restauant at night, however did have the buffet breakfast which was lovely. There were wild kangaroos walking around the grounds which our kids loved.
This hotel is old and in need of a serious update. The room we stayed in had warped furniture, stained walls and was generally in bad repair. However it does have excellent facilities for kids and, with a bit of a spruce up, could retain its splendor. The resultant choice is also poor and overpriced for what you get. It should also be noted that it is one of the better places to stay in the area.
Our room was quite dated but once all rooms have been refurbished this will be a top rate hotel. The facilities, pool, food and staff were great.
Had a wonderful time, lots of things to do for kiddies and adults. Very much recommended.
Generally a good experience, recommend the Japanese restaurant. Simon Kelly, Rockhampton
Beautiful pools and golf courses. Beach is also a feature. Rooms are now in need of refurbishment although still OK. This is reflected in pricing which is quite reasonable for a hotel of this kind. Hotel is showing signs of ageing but grounds are beautiful with plenty of activities for families and all ages.
We had a great time could not complain about anything.
accom avarage but the resort facilitities , especially for families were excellent.
