We really enjoyed our stay and found all the staff very friendly and helpful.
Lovely stay and great hotel. Off street parking a pain and inconvenient
The well- appointed Standard room with modern décor features 1 Queen bed and 1 Single bed, sleeps up to 2 adults and 1 child.
Contemporary Superior room features a Queen bed or 1 Double bed and 1 Single bed, balcony and a single rollaway bed option available ($40 surcharge applies), sleeps up to 2 adults and 1 child.
Despite what some websites are still reporting, parking is no longer free (apparently they sold the car park next door early 2010). Instead valet parking is the only option at $8.95 per vehicle. Room was OK, a little cramped, a bit noisy, balcony door was broken and needed a two calls to get fixed. Otherwise the hotel was fine - breakfast and reception staff were both good.
Upon check-in I was advised of an additional fee for car parking. I asked the reception staff member where I can park my car for free and was directed by the extremely rude reception staff member to park my car across the road to a private car parking facility. I did not want to risk receiving a civil notice by the landlord of the parking facility so I had no other choice but to pay the fee. The check in staff member was unhelpful and when I requested a feedback form I was advised there was a feedback form in the hotel room. Upon checking in my hotel room there was no feedback form only a sheet of paper requesting my e-mail address so they can e-mail a survey to me. A survey is not feedback.
Great location and good customer service.
Our package included full breakfasts and they were really excellent. Hotel service by all employees of a very high and friendly standard.
Whilst this hotel is rated 4 star, my room did not have air conditioning. Now I know that Hobart is not always very warm, but when it is, a simple $20 fan is not sufficient. The room also had a very musty smell to it. The buffet breakfast was very good.
A clean hotel, close to central Hobart. Good service & having breakfast included was a bonus.
Hotel receptionists are very professional and helpful. Unfortunately this doesn't apply to some of the staff serving breakfast. And also TV reception is quite bad. When we tried to get someone to take a look at it, a boy was sent, who told us he'll take a look from the control room however he never returned. We ended up watching Channel 7 Tennis for the entire 2 nights there.
no air con, noisy old and out dated rooms, what was meant to be a hot breakfast was cold ( no heat canisters under the chaffing dishes )
there is no difference in the superior and the standed room but other wise good thankyou
The food was brilliant, both breakfast and dinner. Parking is free, the staff was friendly and helpful. Great place to stay
Ken and I were very pleased with our stay, we did have a minor problem with the room detailers for some reason throwing out our partly used soap and not replacing it, removed a mug, no replacement, as I said minor details. Our room was very good, all staff excellent, friendly and helpful at all times. We found the hotel very well placed for wherever we wanted to go.Thank you
Stayed here many times as a sales rep due to close proximity of city CBD . TV reception still abyssmal ,however about time they upgraded to better quality sets from TCL to Panasonic ,or Sony or something of quality. All in all will stay again as long as their pricing is competetive , toss up beteween Mid City Moter Inn and here .
Great value for a very nice hotel. Shame we couldnt stay longer.
The location of the Mercure is excellent. The covered parking was also great ,particularly as it was raining on our departure.I would certainly use the hotel again and can recommend it to other travelers.
We thought the Mecure was a great hotel to stay at, central to shopping and dining. The room was spacious and the bathroom had a bath and plenty of room to move. The bar area was very relaxing and cosy.
Tv Reception was awful..need to update from TCL to decent units
Great brekky
Service & cleanliness were above average. Location very handy to CBD. However some noise could be heard from hallway from other guests banging doors & flushing of toilets could also be heard from rooms either side. Above average comfortable bed & superior linen. Would definitely return to this Hotel & would recommend to others as a comfortable place to stay.
