Getting there:>FROM HIGHWAY A1 (WESTAUTOBAHN) Take direction to the centre on the road called Hietzinger Kai - ZENTRUM, passing by the Palace of Schönbrunn SCHLOSS SCHÖNBRUNN to your right side and follow the road straight ahead. You cross the GÜRTEL and turn left after 200 m to the road RECHTE WIENZEILE. Follow the road to the centre to the Ring road which is surrounding the inner city. Passing by all the important sights you will reach the channel - DONAUKANAL to SCHWEDENPLATZ and cross the 3rd bridge left, following the TABORSTRASSE. Turn the 2nd street right, that is the ROTENSTERNGASSE. You will find our Hotel Mercure Nestroy on the right side of the street. > from the airport per train with the train S7 till praterstern and there are a walking distance to the hotel from 10 minutes or you can take the underground 1 till nestroyplatz (1 stop)

A decent hotel for the price paid. I would not rank it as 4 stars though. Peaceful location, between two metro stations and near Prater park. We stayed at a building opposite the main hotel, which had no reception or other facilities apart from one pc with free internet access. You did not get the feeling of staying at a hotel. Of course it was quieter. Rooms are spacious and provide everything you would like, but there is no touch of luxury or design that you may have thought for a 4 stars hotel.
Reasonably central location, good breakfast, clean rooms. Not great for business travellers though, at least if you have to iron your shirt: one iron for the whole hotel, which you have to ask them to set up in the sauna area!
no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. only one iron for the whole hotel, in the basement next to the sauna. staff member walked into my room without knocking, while i was sleeping, and didn't apologise. this place is a dud.

Great hotel, clean, large rooms. However it is part of a chain (Mercure) and hence lacks the special atmosphere of independent hotels.
Check in took very long. Receptionist was constantly on the phone while guests were waiting in line. Otherwise well located. Free WLAN!
Superb Breakfast, good room although in annex across road, hotel located a short walk from the river/canal but not in the centre of the city, this was not a problem as location probably quieter, Hotel did not have a restaurant and there was less choice this side of the river/canal, we found a very fine resturant though in a square just around the corner, all in all a good choice of hotel and location would stay there again without hesitation.
Minor drawbacks: -The fan is situated in the middle of the room and it is very noisy -The hotel is divided into two parts, which are situated across the street from each other. Living across the street from the reception and restaurant is not always convenient.
