Mercure London Paddington Hotel Guest Reviews

5 out of 5

This a nicely refurbished hotel with tasteful rooms, although slightly small. The hotel staff is excellent, and the location is perfect if you are arriving from or going to Heathrow by train, as the Heathrow express is a 5 minute walk. Our room was quiet, with almost no street noise. There is a small but very nicely equipped fitness center, which is surprising for a relatively small hotel. Overall, a very good value,

4.6 out of 5

Although the room was small (which didn't bother us), it was very clean, and the location was fabulous being so close to the train and underground - perfect as we came in on an evening flight, and the airport train goes straight to Paddington. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. Would definitely recommend this hotel for people travelling on either business or pleasure, affordable and comfortable. We will stay here again on our next trip back.

The location is excellent when travelling from Heathrow after a long flight. Also good location if needing to depart from Paddington Station to further destinations. Rooms are very small but modern. Would not want to stay for too long but for an overnight stay, this hotel is good.

Location adjacent to Paddington is the only reason to stay in this hotel. The room I was given was the smallest hotel room I had ever been in - and I had just come from Paris, where they don't build big. There was NO place to set up a luggage rack and still be able to walk around the bed. Spoke to a girl in a twin room - it sounded larger. Servicing of the room was random, cups were often dirty, including wrapped plastic cups (??!) I couldn't get the hotel WiFi or cable to connect at all - have never struggled in other hotels - but it turned out that my 1st floor room had access to McDonald's WiFi from downstairs, so I never had to sort that out. Lots of street noise in the room - near a hospital, so lots of sirens. Extremely convenient for Paddington Station.

The electrical switches for lighting, air-conditioning, hair dryer & radio were difficult to locate. The off button for the air conditioner only turned it off for a short period. Sheets & blankets would have been a good option instead of the duvet.

The hotel is in a great location, right next to Paddington, but the room we had was so small it was impossible for 2 people to stay there in any comfort. Unbelievably small for so much money, maybe that's just London Hotel rooms for you.

The hotel location is excellent. I have stayed here once before although in a smaller room. The standard double rooms are very small but cleanliness and modern fixtures are a cut above some other hotels in the area. On arrival I was upgraded to a king bed room which is excellent by international standards. The hotel is right on Paddington station so convenient to underground and Heathrow Express. The hotel has no restaurant although there is room service and a small bar downstairs. Staff seem friendly and helped me with my luggage. Would stay here again if the price is right.

I thoroughlly enjoyed my stay at the Quality Crown Hotel Paddington. The location is absolutely perfect. However the breakfast is provided by a cafe downstairs and the quality of food was poor. We also had dinner there and it was terrible. The room was lovely, a little small but expected for London. I have not hesitation on staying at this hotel again MINUS the breakfast.

As expected, the rooms are small but comfortable and pleasant. The complimentary bottle of spring water daily was a nice touch! Very helpful and friendly front-desk staff. If you have big cases or lots of luggage, give this a miss. However, I think this Hotel is good value for money. Our room on the 5th floor had minimal noise from the underground trains experienced by people on lower floors.

For me the Quality Crown was an excellent choice. For a 3 night business trip it was ideal. Location was perfect for Heathrow and central London, room was very clean/contemporary, well equipped (trouser press & Tea/Coffee making!), was a good size for 1 person, bathroom was a wet type set up for disabled access. Aircon could have been more powerful. I even managed to pick up WiFi access from the McDonalds next door! Reception staff were okay, and the waitresses in Garfunkels were very friendly. Will use again if I can get a good rate.

Very clean, excellent location if traveling to London from Heathrow 5 mins walk from the train, rooms compact (very small), found the staff very friendly and accommodating, would stay there again.

As we booked 2 nites through different agencies, we had two different rooms. The first night we spend in a compact room which really is not big enough for 2 people and not really value for money. We moved to a contemporary room the second night, which was spacious enough for London. Overall, the rooms are clean and modern and the location is excellent.

A good example of what a straight forward railway terminus hotel should be.

It is in front of the railway station and convenient, however, the price is too high for the facilities and service. Internet and TV are not free, the room is SO small, and the reception is not so helpful. I could not leave my bag when I checked out to leave for couple of hours, because they did not offer any safe place, saying 'just put it there'! I did not understand why the hotel carries such a high reputation.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Quality Crown Paddington and I shall do so again in future. My main reason for choosing it is its close proximity to Paddington Station, literally just a stones throw away. Its particulaly useful on my last day in London, as I can leave my bags there after checkout, and just pick them up before hoping on the train home later in the day. Plenty of places to eat in the immediate area too, and with the tube station right next door, all of London is easily accessed. Hyde Park is just a short walk away. The rooms are modern and comfortable, and the toiletries supplied are all 'Dove' brand; much better than the cheap stuff you usually get, that you wouldn't wash you dog with! Staff are courteous, and helpful when needed; not always the most cheerful, but then are any hotel staff in London?! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good service at reception and left luggage facility. Location was perfect as I was travelling to and from Paddington. Bathroom was lovely.Room itself was extremely small and would not be comfortable to spend any time in. Television's position was unsuitable as it was adjacent to the bed. I did not spend much time in my room but, I am aware that lots of single travellers do and need as much comfort as those in double/twin rooms. I have paid less for a better room in other parts of central London.
