A slight problem having to park car ilegally whilst checking in but the night reception guy was great, gave me a room on the top floor as the noise on the street can be a problem and then he waived the parking charge for the two nights!! Bravo! Then on checkout Mr grumpy on checkout interogated me about this and said he would be checking my story, moral of the story.. Get it in writing
The room looked like the photos which is always a plus. And it had a view, as promised. It was a good size, with a comfortable bed - very pleasant indeed.

Nice modern room with a great view of the harbour bridge and a very comfortable bed. Late check-out and secure parking were a bonus. We could not have asked for better value for money.
Friendly staff though room was in need of a revamp. Fair price considering location.
The hotel is actually re-opened after idle for 2 years (as I learnt from the housekeeping staff), but not newly opened (as indicated on their website last month). The rooms were refurblished, but some of the facilities do not function well, e.g. water pressure of the shower was low, lighting was not sufficient, water in the bathtub flew away very slowly and also there're noisy telephone lines. Moreover, the cleanliness was poor, e.g. the newly replaced towels were always come with extra hair, and I once find blood stains on them. Fortunately, the service was okay and the staffs were quite friendly.
nice clean hotel. close to all attractions. will stay there again
Great location. Efficient room service. Will stay there again.
Service was very good and the 24 hr reception was very convenient. The parking was poor and expensive. I would be more happier to pay $25 if the parking was reserved for hotel guests only.
No Ashtrays in the smoking balcony
Recently refurbished with reasonable size rooms, but quite bare with no pictures on the walls and an empty fridge. Windows open a little which allows some fresh air. Not much soundproofing so lots of corridor noise. Located in a noisy area so lots of noise at night from nightclubs. Good location, close to train and easy walk to city.
Friendly staff always willing to please. Conveniently located next to all the diverse nightlife the cross has to offer. Will stay there again in the future
A good place to stay when staying in Sydney and in the midst of great restaurants
Going through a few teething problems with the refurbishment, but has potential to be a fantastic hotel.
I have been staying at this hotel often recently for business and have been generally happy. However, if you are going to stay here try to ensure that you do not get a room with a connecting door to an adjacent room. The sound deadening is non existent and you may as well be sitting in the room next door as far as sound goes.
There was some decorating going on when I stayed here but on the whole the hotel is quite pleasant. The entrance and reception are a bit odd as they are on different floors. Location is handy for Kings Cross as it is right above the station.
Chiftley Potts Point has been given a great facelift! It is completely different ( and in a good way) from the old Crest Hotel. The rooms are simple and modern. Interior is funky. If you want to be near the cafe strip and nightlife in Potts point and Darlinghurst - this is a great location. I stayed when they just relaunched the hotel so there were visible teething issues - problems with the cable TV stations, spa service not available. Hopefully, these issues will be resolved moving forward.
Very nice reception and rooms. Glad we stayed on the 8th floor as on a sat night it is a little loud. Lifts a little slow. Didnt eat there so can not comment. Location great as had friend in Potts point. Close to train stationa and walked to Oxford street. Would stay there again.
The hotel is only new. Everything is bright and clean. I believe there are a few teething problems as I had small issues with getting things corrected in my room (lightbulbs, DND sign etc). All the staff are very happy and enthusiastic. I did enjoy my stay there and would seriously consider it again.
Great location right at the Kings Cross train stop in Sydney -- it was easy to walk or take the train everywhere in the central city. The staff were extraordinarily friendly. The rooms are brand new and very chic. I would definitely stay here again.
This is the old Crest Hotel and it has not been finished yet so would not recommend at this time
