friendly, helpful courteous staff. room fairly basic but clean and comfortable. very handy location

The hotel room was small and tidy and it was clear that the housekeeping staff did the best with what they had. However the room was tired and the carpets smelled of mould. The buffet breakfast was really great value for money.

The hotel location is great for central shopping. Trams & trains are easily accessible as is the minibus linking to the Skybus to the airports. Reception staff, both arrival & departure, provided service without being servile. The down-side was the cleaner. The person failed across the four days to mop the floor in the basin/toilet area. S/he mopped the shower but forgot the rest thereby letting the hotel down. Shame, as other aspects of our stay were fine.

The location of this place is brilliant ,at the mall, easy to just walk anywhere.The staff although prompt gave no smiles at all. (Except the lovely cleaning staff). Room was clean though the carpet was coming up near the bathroom door and looked tacky. And what happened to giving enough milk to have a cuppa! Good value overall though..

Very convenient. The room was a little small, but fine for myself & my daughter. The breakfast was great and the cleanliness and security of the hotel was pleasingI will definitely stay here again. "I just wish people who are up at 4am wouldn't allow their door to constantly BANG!

Very convenient location, right in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Our twin room was a little small, but adequate and clean. The concierge desk staff were really helpful.

Location was perfect for us. We needed a safe room to sleep and store our luggage, so the room was perfect for us. Not big, no extras, nothing fancy, but inexpensive through Hotel Club, clean and safe. Nice and dark too. We were not woken by sunlight peeking through curtains, which was a bonus. Complimentary luggage storage was handy too. The only negative was the noisy fridge.

I loved it. Fantastic location, fantastic room, great price, enjoyed my stay very much. Thank God for the heating in the room!!! :) Will def stay here again - no hesitation.

Nothing was too much trouble for the Staff at Mercure nWelcome - from my room being available when I arrived early, to the Porter who stored my luggage for the rest of the day after checkout when I was attending a Production at the State Theatre in the afternoon

Great location right in the middle of the city. Car parking is close by and does not cost a fortune. We will be back and will recommend to our friends

As we have stayed with you on a few occassions, we would recommend your hotel to our friends. It is so central to everything. We often come over for the football and always book with you!

This hotel is very conveniently located in the middle of Melbourne city, with easy access to trams, shops, theatres and restaurants. The Mercure Welcome is the older wing of the Grand Mercure hotels, so the rooms are a little older in decor. However, they are pleasant and clean and good value for money. I would stay again.

we enjoyed this hotel very much we found all staff great and was a great finish to a great night in Melbourne by all of us look forward to the next visit to melbourne, this is a definite yes here from now on on when we have any stays in Melbourne. anita

Very happy with my stay. Although our window view was a concrete wall, it was a great place with helpful staff. The room was clean, but the towels had an odd smell. Great location!

Had a lovely stay at the Mercure Welcome. The hotel itself is a little old, but ticked all of our boxes in terms of value and location. The rooms were are good size and clean. I didn't try the breakfast so can't comment on the food. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to my friends.

great location in swanston st - our room was near the lift so a little noisy but otherwise our experience was great

Stayed 2 nights with a friend in a twin room when on a shopping trip. The location was fantastic, the breakfast was fantastic - really couldn't fault it for what we paid. Would definitely stay there again without hesitation. Thanks

The staff were pleasant. Great location. I found the airconditioning in my room rattled and was so loud I had to turn it off. Also the carpet was badly stained in the corner near the window. The carpet gave the room a shabby appearance. I had to climb under the desk to plug ithe kettle as there was no higher powerpoint, then I had to leave it on the floor to boil as the cord was so short.
