Extremely happy, customer service is excellent, walking distance to CBD and the rate is very good. Large room, clean and comfortable. Only grouse is limited parking space, although I managed to find one at the limited parking space but I guess a lot of guests will be dissappointed.
This hotel is a short walk from the downtown, which is full of attractions, shopping, dining and entertainment.
I really enjoy staying at the mercure willis st. It is very good value for money, and the free parking is a a clincher. Thanks
The staff at this Mercure were exceptional, team this with free parking and the kind offer of a late check out and I was very pleased.
Very good value at the price. Easy 15 minute walk to Lambton Quay. Friendly, efficient reception staff. Room compact but comfortable.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds very comfortable. No complaints
Positives: The room was very spacious which was great, in the lobby was a lounge area which was also nice to wait for airport transfers on a horrible wet day. 4 out of 5 staff were lovely and very pleasant to deal with. Negatives: Noisy, bathroom wasn't clean, the swipe cards stopped working 6 times (once at 4am which was very annoying)the lifts were slow and smelly so going up & down to have access cards fixed wasn't enjoyable. There wasn't a cork-screw in the WHOLE hotel!!! including the bar & restaurant, I had to go out and purchase my own. I had a shower at 7pm on Friday night and the water was cold. so all in all we won't be back.
Nice hotel, good restaurant, convenient to City Centre
Another enjoyable visit, staff are always very helpfull. Food is always very good and staff in the restaurant are excellent
The room we stayed had no air conditioning so it was really hot when we checked in. Also there is only one old window which did not stay open, it automatically shut. The chocolate bar was placed on the top of fridge, so it was already melted. Perhaps it needs to be looked at.
Everything was very clean and necessities provided. The speed of service however was a little disappointing, with it taking an exceptionally long time to acquire an extra pillow in the evening. Staff were very friendly though, and the hotel is fantastic for the price.
It did the job. You get more or less what you pay for, but the half hour a day free wi fi in the lounge is handy. Beer shop opposite is a little bit expensive but very convenient.
The Mercure on Willis street is much older than the other one in Wellington though I think much better for a couple of reasons. First of all the price is much lower due to it's age and secondly it has a gym, sauna, spa that is open 24 hours.....which is very rare to find. Although the entrance is unassuming, the elevators old and dirty looking the room itself was incredibly clean....spotless...and had all the things I needed, a bed and a shower! I have stayed in many very high class hotels in my life, paying large amounts of money, but I think most is wasted as I don't do much in a hotel room other than sleep and wash. I loved the sauna and the fact I could go anytime I desired. To sum it up, the Mercure on Willis is the perfect place for me in both hygene (most important) and convenience. Centrally located it is close to all main areas. Thank you for finding me such a good place for such a great price!
The rooms are very small for the price. There needs to be some kind of refurbishment as they are very dated now. The staff both at reception and the Restaurant were absolutely top class and provided every assistance and advice that was asked of them.
Perfectly acceptable for a one night stay
Very good hotel and staff were very helpful
The room was quite small, actually cramped for space, and the decor very basic, but clean and tidy presentation. Central location and good value for maney for a bed and breakfast. Parking space was an issue, but valet service helped to negate that.
Stayed at hotel on numerous occasions, staff helpful and attentive to my needs.Location ideal for city work (30 min walk to other side of city)and has car perking when required.
Room quite small but do not notice when sleeping. Short walk to Event centre but great value for money.
Nice people but poorly maintained rooms.
