We stayed in the 2-Bedroom Suite on the 17th floor for 6 nights and it was perfect. Good view, great price and fantastic space area in the apartment. The hotel is perfectly situated, near great local eating joints that open late into the night, the Indian Street, Chinatown, Main Bazaar Road and more. The city centre is also only a few minutes walk. A good find was a little quirky place called Little Lebanon that served great kebabs, sandwiches and some local delight. Great place to chill with option to smoke the shisha. Only bummer was the housekeeping service. It was inconsistent and sloppy. Toiletries were not replenished and we had to call housekeeping for towels almost everyday. And only on our last night did we get face towels. Service from the front office staff was extremely satisfying though. Look for a guy named Quaid for great sightseeing and food advice. But if you cannot find him, any one from the reception desk to the concierge was more than happy to help!
First impression of this hotel was good; it has a 5-star look... the entrance, lobby, and reception, but when i reach the room was a bit taken aback and disappointed, the door is chipped and not maintained...the room look like one in a 3-star hotel. Fortunately the sheets and provides though basic are clean. The gym equipment are rather old and back dated. Overall, i still think it is still not too bad a place to stay in Kuching.
It is located in front of the padang which is quite nice. The walk to the Waterfront is a short 15 minutes.
The room is small compared to other hotels i stayed in in kuching, such as [other hotel]. I was put on the 3rd floor and the room was noisy as there was a bar two floors down on top of that the room faces two blank walls a real disappointment unlike the [other hotel] which faces the river. The breakfast was good. I would generally not use the hotel again. I recalled i paid less for the [other hotel] last year.
This place is just a little tired but clean and comfortable. We had a friend in a 'single standard' room whose window opened into the car park. We were on the other side and had a view of the Merdeka Pedang. It would be a good idea to book a Pedang view room.
Smoking should be totally banned in the restaurant. Breadfast need to be improved
It's a very nice and clean hotel. Even the standard rooms are a nice size. The staff are very friendly. The gym ist very good, but the pool is a little small, if you want to swim. If you want to go there with your kids, it's perfect.
