Winner of the Tasmanian Tourism Awards 2006 Peoples Choice Award. Built in 1853, Meredith House has 11 bedrooms. 6 ensuite bedrooms upstairs, a ground floor suite. There are also 4 ground floor Mews studio rooms, 3 with spas, Queen sized bed & single bed, a small kitchenette & dining area & a private veranda on to the garden.
We have a comfortable guest lounge where you can relax with a complimentary glass or sherry, or choose something from our extensive Tasmanian wine list which offers the best of locally produced, cool climate wines.
We believe a great Bed and Breakfast should provide two essentials, a great bed and a great breakfast! A full cooked breakfast is included in the room rate. We use the best, fresh Tasmanian produce. We are also able to cater for people with specific dietary requirements, such as gluten or lactose intolerance. We stock soy milk, lactose free milk and gluten free foodstuffs. When comparing room prices, remember, a full cooked breakfast is included in all of our room rates.
The house sits on a hill overlooking Great Oyster Bay. From the veranda & superior double rooms there are sweeping views of the Freycinet Peninsula. Surrounding the property are beautiful gardens with a gas barbecue & laundry facilities. We are centrally located for restaurants- including two of Tasmania's best, The Banc and EBB, shops and other services. We are accredited with the Tourism Council of Tasmania and a proud winner of the 2006 Peoples Choice Award.

Getting there:
Swansea is 135 kilometres from Hobart, take the A3 from the airport (signposted Sorrell), at Sorrell take follow the signs for St Mary's (A3 - Tasman Highway). Once you reach Swansea Meredith House is signposted on the left of the highway.
From Launceston we are 130 kilometres from the airport, there are several ways to Swansea, the easiest and quickest is the MI to Campbell Town, follow the sign for Lake Leake, the Swansea.
Meredith House is signposted at the bottom of Noyes Street on your right.
Check-in Procedure:
Check-in is after 2 p.m. Earlier check-in times are possible but please telephone before arriving to make arrangements.
Check-out time is 10 a.m. Later check-out times are sometimes possible by arrangement.
Car parking:
There is a car park to the left of the house which we ask all patrons staying in the house to use.
Child Policy:
Meredith House welcomes well behaved children. We do not charge for children under 3, and minimal charges are applicable for children aged between 4-15. Children over the age of 15 are charged at adult rates. We do not allow pets to stay.
