Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi

Hotel asthetically is really quite something. Until you get into the room. Outside areas of the lobby and restaurants have been renovated however the rooms are still stuck squarely in the 80's and although not in desperate need of a make over, they are definetely due. Overall the experience was good and apart from the dated decor, we had a great time. Drinks and food are expensive compared to other hotels/resorts.

Ideal for family getaway, good location right in the heart of Pantai Cenang. Easy access to food and convinience stores out of the hotel. Settings and ambience around the hotel are nice. However the rooms are so-so as the furnitures are pretty old. Buffet breakfast spread was a dissapointment. Limited spread and I see the same spread for 3 consecutive days throughout my stay. The spread is definately not up to a 5 star hotel breakfast spread. We ordered a bucket of ice to chill our wine from the hotel and was charged RM5 for that. I felt this was a rip off as I have never been charged for ice ever in my life in all the hotels that I have been to. Overall was an OK experience, recommendable for the location but not the quality of the hotel.

Fantastic. Although some upgrade work was being carried out, this did not affect our enjoyment of the beautiful setting and the very friendly staff. Food is excellent and the atmosphere is very easy going. Saving up for next year.

Wonderful location, the resort is clean all staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended place to stay. I enjoyed every bit of it. Will go back again.

5 star hotel but quality is 4 star.. But it's very nice location and also you can try local delights in town jus out side of resort.

getting on a bit ,but still very happy with resort. cockroaches start appearing in room after 5 days so more /spaying required. no water sports for some reason . service/smiles by staff is fantastic really make you feel welcome

Great hotel, very friendly & helpful staff, huge buffet breakfasts. The rooms are very clean and all have large balconies. The beach is incredibly close and has lovely white sand and gentle surf (suitable for young children). The only two drawbacks for me were the cheap quality bicycles (though you can hire them very cheaply in town) & a errrr plumbing issue with the toilet.

Not cheap by Malaysia standards but a high class resort hotel, with plenty of nearby local restaurants that are much cheaper than the hotrel. Excellent if you're looking for a special break and you can afford it

Spacious, clean rooms however, starting to show age in some detail. Beautiful garden and pool landscaping. Very good breakfast selection, very good food in Thai restaurant, you may wish to try outside restaurants as alternatives as well.

excellent service, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms very comfortably disposed and clean. Food could have been better, and expensive compared to what you can get in town - but that means a taxi ride (cost about 6 euros each way). We were very happy with our stay in general.

A beautiful and relaxing resort with large, comfortable, air-conditioned rooms. Staff are friendly, conscientious and easygoing, nothing is ever too much trouble. Buffet breakfast was of good quality with most options catered for. Pools are well maintained which is lucky because beach swimming is usually hindered by jellyfish. Restaurant quality is good but menu prices are exhorbitant compared with elsewhere and this is the only negative, especially after a day of sightseeing when you would rather relax at the resort, rather than going out to eat.

This was a great hotel for a comfortable weekend getaway. Food not to the standard you would enjoy for a longer break or if you are a 'foodie'. Fabulous beach, location, staff very friendly. All just depends on what you are looking for. Would return.

Beautiful place, we got the ocean view room and it was during a quiet period. The bbq dinner on the beach dinign was very romantic. Strongly recommended.

I wish the place had more lighting...there is heavy usage of dark wood in the design of the place...that coupled with dim lighting gives it a pretty depressing look overall...otherwise the rooms are decent..nothing very lavish...we stayed in a pool facing deluxe villa..2807..its spacious enough and the li'l balcony overlooking the pool was pretty cute..the landscaping is awesome and the overall tropical look is beautiful to say the least !

Everything we were looking for in a resort. Right on the beach, two pools (one really fantastic, the other quite good), friendly staff and cute rooms. Great location for relaxing, yet close enough to everything to have some fun.

I found everything about Pelangi Beach Resort right to my expectations. If you are looking for true 5* try somewhere else, but if you want luxury accomodation with great service in a idyllic peaceful location, you couldnt ask for much more.

Best location: near the airport, facing the beautiful beach. High quality of breakfast. Considerate and cooperative staff. Facilities a little bid old but not serious.

Excellent hotel and facilities. Rooms were excellent and very spacious. Staff was very good and courteous. Breakfast was well laid out. Location was excellent and this was contrary to the result of the surveys on this site which stated that the location of the hotel was not convinient. They however need to improve on the TV channels as they were less. Will definately stay there again.

We've been there twice now, and it's stille very,very good! Great staff, excellent food! The spa was new for us, and it's really relaxing. It's was a good stay in luxery!
