I did not spend much time at hotel as I was on the go most of the time. Did not use restaurant so no opinion. Hotel did provide 2 courtesy computers in lobby which was nice for checking email. Did not see any room thermostat and room got pretty warm at times. Staff provided on time wake up calls. Hotel is a distance from tourist areas but public transportation is nearby. Would stay again.
Basic room but clean & comfortable. Excellent value for money. Great breakfast.
We had a very plesent stay at the Mespil. It is very convenient to city centre with a beautiful calan setting. The staff were very helpful and plesant Nice to see a hotel has kept its Irishness
The hotel is bright, airy and very clean, the bath water is hot and the staff are extremely pleasant and obliging.
The hotel is, in general, a little tired. The staff were helpful and mainly friendly. We stayed in a room on the upper floor and had problems with the shower. It seemed at best just a trickle but every so often it dried up to a dribble. We did report it and a maintenance came while we were out and said it was fixed., but the following mornings it was the same. Personally I think when other rooms are using hot water the pressure on our floor disappeared. Not really worth the money we paid.
Very comfortable, bright and spacious. The staff were extremely pleasant and obliging and the bath water was wonderfully hot.
Service at the Mespil Hotel was excellent. Check-in & out was fast & efficient. Our room was an "Executive Room", and it was spacious and comfortable. Late night snack in the bar was tasty. Continental breakfast okay. All in all great value for money in an excellent location.
The Mespil has made me unadventurous. I find it consistently good and am most disinclined to try any other hotel in Dublin. It has all I need; good sized and comfortable rooms, and a good breakfast at a reasonable price. I really enjoy the walk into St. Stephen's Green and the good selection of cafes around the hotel. Will I ever find a good excuse to try another Dublin hotel again?
Excellent courteous service - we enjoyed our stay. Thank you. We'll be back!
Great hotel for city break or gigs/games in Aviva or RDS. Less than 15 min walk to Grafton St, lovely hotel. Perfect location and really friendly staff , small car park so get there early but ideal for city break. Lots of nice places to eat and drink nearby if you choose not to do so in the hotel, places to suit all budgets. Would highly recommend and will be back!
we were in dublin for a concert at the new aviva stadium, the mespil hotel was excellent as it was only 10mins walk away.its also only a short walk away from st.stephens green!!!! would definitely stay again
really really enjoyed our stay here.we walked the 20 minutes in and out to town . the dining room and bar was lovely.very friendly staff
The hotel itself was clean but the heat in the rooms was very uncomfortable. The hotel did supply fans but it was required to be left on beside our locker constantly.
An older hotel but with good services and prices.
For the price this is a good hotel reasonably well located, with good size rooms. Staff were very helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble.
very good only problem no ventelation in bathroom fan not working
Excellent Hotel
One of the best value hotels in Dublin and a gentle stroll to Grafton St. and city centre. Nice setting on the Grand canal. Pleasant and efficient front desk staff. V warm rooms and good bathrooms.
The Mespil is consistently a good performer and a great value 3 star hotel. Front desk staff who are friendly and professional. Rooms are good sized, bright and warm. Bathrooms are clean and functional. Lunch in the restaurant is good value and popular. Location is great. If there is a weak spot it is probably the bar which is big, lacking in atmosphere and expensive.
