Getting there:The central city location provides convenient access to all forms of public transport. An airport transfer bus can be caught from outside the airport right to the door. Closest train stations to the hotel are Wynyard and Town Hall. Driving from Sydney International or Domestic Airport (SYD): The best route is to take the Eastern Distributor Motorway and then the Cross City Tunnel (toll cost of AU$6.50). Exit left onto William Street and continue along this road, crossing over George Street (with the Town Hall on the left and the Queen Victoria Building on the right). You can turn right onto either Clarence or Kent Street and travel north until the intersection at traffic lights with Erskine Street. Turn left here and then left again into Sussex Street, which is one way travelling south. The Sussex Street reception is approximately 400 metres (one block) on the corner of King and Sussex Street. Toll(s) subject to change without notice).
Check-in Procedure:Photo identification and a valid credit card are required on arrival. This property does not accept cash bonds. Check in time is 2.00pm, you are welcome to leave your bags in foyer and check out time is by 10.00am. There are approximately 12 steep stairs leading into the building.
Car parking:Metro Apartments have a discount agreement with a Public Parking Station at 170 Sussex Street (Rear on 383 Kent Street). It is the first carpark on the left hand side after passing the property. The current rate is $30.00 per 24 hour period. (Car park is not open 24 hours) Simply have reception validate your parking ticket before you return to the parking station. Rate applicable at time of writing. We can not accept responsibility if parked at the wrong car park or if paid by machine.
Child Policy:Children aged 0-12 years are free of charge when sharing with at least 1 adult and using existing bedding. Cots where available are provided free of charge. Extra person - an additional fee of $40.00 per person, per night will apply.
Had a function at King St wharf, Darling Harbour so I wanted to stay within close proximity. Perfect location & good rates. Rooms had balconys & were a decent size.
The apartment was clean and had a reasonable view of Darling Harbour - good value for money for over night stay.

Fantastic location. Reasonably priced & has everything you need. Very helpful, kind staff - upgraded us for no reason! Great parking arrangements also.
Good location overall very pleasant experience
We will not go back there. The staff were friendly but the room was not nice. The shower was rusty, some of the vertical blinds were missing, the furniture was old and in poor condition, etc.

Facilities are rather old. They don't have a staff on duty around the clock. On alternate nights, a security personnel manages the reception desk. He can't offer immediate assistance if you have problems with your room. Location wise, its good if you want somewhere near the city central and its near the pick-up point for day tours by AAT Kings, Grayline and APT. If you prefer to cook your own meals (which I doubt many will), there's a fully equiped kitchen. For the location, the price is good compared to other hotels within the vicinity.
Metro Apartments are at a perfect location at Darling Harbour and almost in the heart of the CBD. We were not disturbed by traffic or anything else, even on the third floor. The humming of the air-conditioning accounts partly for this. For longer stays the clothes washing facilities were much appreciated. The kitchenette is good for making breakfast and small meals. The refrigerator and cooking stove are large. However, the other kitchen equipment is somewhat lacking. There could have been more plates, cutlery, pots, glasses, etc. The carpets are shabby and need replacing. Clean towels are supplied daily, and dirty dishes in the kitchen are washed by the cleaning staff. The apartments are not luxurious, but are comfortable and very central for sightseeing in and around Sydney. They can be recommended.
There is no disablity or pram access at the main entrance which is a bit tricky for customers with little ones.
There were 4 of us staying,including my daughter and grand-daughter,which proved a bit cramped.Rooms were nice and clean,but the place needs some upgrading.Staff were very helpful and obliging.Location is excellent and we had a beautiful view over Darlig Harbour due to very large window and balcony.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We have a toddler and asked to stay not in the smarter apartments with the mezzanine level, but in the older apartments across the road, which are on one level. The structure of this building is a bit old, the bath was a bit worn, the lift a bit cluncky, the aircon not so good etc, but it was still very clean. It was much safer for a young child. However, the smarter apartments are much nicer! If you do have a toddler, remember that there are stairs from the street up into both sets of apartments. (Once inside there are lifts, but you have to get your stroller inside first!)
Only real negative was that Parking is a block away. Would stay there again in a bigger room. Cheers
Lovely stay, convenient location within walking distance to wharf & harbour cruises + club. A little noisy through the night but very comfortable stay otherwise.
On the well-worn side but spacious well equipped two-level apartment in an excellent location very close to Darling Harbor and King Street Wharf. Would certainly stay there again for convenience/price reasons.
apartment smelt damp, the condensation was bad on walls and windows, also sofa and chairs badly stained.
We stayed in Kingley Apartments across the road in King Street. The location for us was just what we wanted, the room rate was great and would stay again, maybe a little higher up to avoid the road noise, but overall very happy.
Very close to noisy traffic. Disturbing. Lots of steps and no ramp to wheel the suitcase up.
