Really it was a good stay. The staff were helpful and very friendly and with some extra merci's, bonjour's bonsoir's things would run smoother. The hotel is just 10 min from Gard du Nord and nearest Metro Station. I would go again.
Rated as 3 star, but equipment and facilities are that old and tired that it is more of a 2 star hotel. As most typical Parisian hotels, it's also quite noisy, both from other rooms and street. Breakfast is ok (bit more than standard continental), but av. value for money @ 9 Euro, and Internet not free, but charged at 5 Euro/day.
The hotel is in a very noisy location, and the room is quite small and basic and unmodernised; felt it was quite expensive but it is in a good location for Gare du Nord
Very small rooms, had to bend over in shower as tiling curved over shower head lowering the ceiling. Noisy with pidgeons cooing very early in the morning along with very loud church bells.
Very convenient for Gare du Nord. Reasonable sized room very warm, friendly staff. Breakfast ok.
Great location if arriving on the Eurostar train as just a few mins walk from Gare du Nord and about 10 mins from the Sacre Couer as well. Very clean (if a little dated) and good breakfast - overall very good value for money for a short stay. I'd use it again.
Well situated for Eurostar. Helpful personel. Good price for one night stay
Budget hotels in Paris are small, don't have airconditioning and are pretty basic. It was summer and so the room was hot. However, the location near Nord Station is perfect if you are catching the Eurostar train. There are lots of restaurants around and bus stops taking you to most places around paris. The main tourist attractions are easy to get to via the metro. The room was small, very basic facilities, but had a bath which was very welcome, rather than just a shower. No tea and coffee facilities. The staff were friendly and helpul and spoke english.
Larger than usual Paris room - good sized bathroom. The linen is showing signs of age and the pillows have seen much better days but it is clean and well located near Gare Du Nord. Staff are helpful. I wojld stay here again for short stops.
The general impression was good except some small things. 1. I don't like plastic drinking-glasses even for tooth-brushing 2. If you want to make a phone-call you have to go down, ask for a line, go back and only then you can use the phone 3. All TV-channels (except one) and even the amplifier button are blocked. Though my hearing is excellent I couldn't understand a word because the installed volume was scarcely audible.
Good hotel for getting around Paris. Bus stop out front of hotel, never waited longer than 15 minutes for a bus. Very close to international railway station. Area around not that good full of beggers and homeless people, not clean and smells in some parts especially lanes around station. But you don't have to go near that area, Get on the bus to the centre of Paris and it is great.
We only stayed for one night so we did not use all the facilities. The greeting was great as we were greeted in English. The room was comfortable and clean, Could have done with a shower curtain. Breakfast was good and plenty.
i stayed at the hotel for 3 nights.. the rooms are quite small but cousy, the bathroom is alright only that there wasnt a courtain for the shower,so we always had a small pool in our bathroom. breakfast is till 10 or something so if you are a long-sleeper.. its not really worth getting up for + it isnt included in the price anyway. the location- if you are looking forward to get out at nights it really sucks. the good thing is the gare du nord station from where you can easily take the metro to anywhere you want. but really, its a bit far away from everything except montmatre and the sacre coeur. overall its ok, one goes to paris to see the dif places, not to stay in the hotel all day long anyways so for the price its worth it. enjoy :)
Very helpful friendly and considerate, an excellent location for arriving in Paris at Gare du Nord, not too close to the unfriendly streets immediately around the station, but still very close, less than 2 minutes walk off the main street. We had a great stay and would love to be back there now.
Much noise from the VERY little und too small lift
Metropol Hotel is a good choice for the short stay. Room is clean, and bathroom is excellent. Service is Ok but the only problem is parking (closest parking ask for the keys of the car what was a bit too much for me:))
fair value for money in Paris good location for train travel
The Metropol Hotel Paris is very conveniently located within easy walking distance of Gare du Nord. Externally it is a charming hotel with wrought iron balconies; some renovating on the interior has been done, with fairly new bathrooms and carpet for example. The room was small, though clean; fresh towels (towels getting a bit old now) provided daily, and bins emptied daily too. Staff were all very friendly and helpful to deal with. The main problem was that there is no shower door/curtain, therefore when you shower the water splashes out onto the bathroom floor, flooding the tiles.
The Hotel is very good located, Service was exellent.
It just needs a freshen up
