Brilliant little hotel, lovely staff and great location
Nice hotel on Rossio. Our back room not much view but very quiet. We booked a double bed and got two singles. All transport within a minute or two and airport bus outside. Breakfast very good. Staff friendly. Would stay there again.
Great location right on the town square - opening balconies on levels 2 to 4 that really add to the atmosphere. Not noisy at all, surprisingly, with restaurants directly below. Staff were helpful, printing timetables, suggesting itineraries etc. We would definitely stay there again.
An older, small, hotel in an excellent location right in the centre of the old town. Steps up to lobby a bit awkward. Try to get a room on the 4th or 5th floors for the view and reduced noise. Could do with a face lift but overall a pleasant experience to stay here.
The hotel is in a very good location close to all main attractions (Bairro Alto, Castle, tram/bus tour stops etc). The only complain I have it's that the room was smelly, probably because of the old pipes in the toilet. We were lucky that the weather was nice and we could keep the windows open all the time.
Friendly efficient staff, always willing to help. Great location situated on the Rossio in the centre of Lisbon. Rooms were very good but on lower floors a lot of noise could be heard from the street, even though they were double glazed. Hot breakfast was good. Would recommend this hotel.
An excellent place to stay in the centre of Lisbon. Very convenient for all things - airport buses stop outside, trams stop in the next square, metro on the doorstep and Rossio station around the corner all make it very accessible - and it is surrounded by excellent restaurants. Fine views of the castle from the front rooms looking across the square - what more could you want?!
Centrally located. We had a large comfortable room at the back of the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again.
Excellent location, but very old and you have you lug your bags up steps to get to the lift up to reception. Rooms are old, linen was too small for beds exposing torn mattresses. Bathrooms were very old, with cracked tiles. Not for us again.
Nice hotel and very centrally located. All the staff spoke English (and French and Italian I think, probably German too), and were friendly and helpful. The room I had was clean and large (twin), with a view over the square and towards the castle. Traffic noise wasn't a problem, but there was some, if you're fussy (back rooms shouldn't have this problem, but no view). Free wifi in the lobby area was much appreciated. Dry cleaning service took 2 days, so get in early if you need it.
When we arrived, the desk clerk told us that a computer snaffu had meant they had double booked. He was very apologetic and personally escorted us (pulling the luggage) to the Hotel Avenida around the corner. The brief look at the Metropole hotel was very encouraging and we would try to stay there on our next visit. A very smooth handling of an overbooking.
I had left some of my valubles in the my room safe when I left for Porto. The staff, especially Ricardo was very helpful in getting me my belongings. I had my personals delivered to my hotel in Porto the very next morning. All the staff were very helpful in recommending sights to see, and great restaurants to dine in. The location is right in the center of where you want to be!
Smaller boutique hotel in downtown Lisbon which faces onto Pedro 4th Square, one of the outstanding and historic squares of the city. Central to shopping and public transportation. Excellent view of St Georges Castle from your hotel balcony room. Make sure you request a room overlooking square when you book.
Excellent city centre location for anyone visiting Lisbon for a short stay city break. The staff are very courteous and extremely helpful.
Airco was broken down
This hotel has an excellent location right in the middle of lisbon; ideal for exploring this fascinating city. Staff were helpful and friendly; we enjoyed our stay there.
A superbly located hotel, right in the heart of Lisbon. Absolutely the best position for tourist visitors.
An excellent hotel in an excellent location. We would recommend to anyone visiting Portugal.
This was a nice three-star hotel in a very convenient location. The room was a nice size as was the bathroom. They served a very nice contintental breakfast in the morning. My wife and I would stay here again.
There is no easy park by the hotel, it is only a problem if you come by car or you need to do long loading. After that you are walking distance from the heart of the city... Much better than the big hotel up in the avenue of the libertidade
