Great first class hotel
Overpriced hotel for what you get. The lobby area is nice but the bedrooms are small and dark. It is hard to sleep with the noise as some bedrooms face out onto the canal - with police and other boats driving past continuously through the night. These rooms are very small. Other rooms face out onto a courtyard which is better but the noise from tourists dragging their cases through the alley on the way to their hotels/ the water taxi starts very early in the morning. The bathrooms are fine and breakfast is good. The service at the front desk varies from hostile to passable depending on whom you speak with.
The hotel has a very romantic atmosphere. Stayed in a room with a lovely view of the lagoon. It is easy to get to and close to the square.
Very comfortable and lovely decoration. Hotel views are also very beautiful.
We spent seven wonderful days here on our honeymoon and couldn't have picked a better hotel - warm and cosy, the staff very friendly and obliging, and location perfect. Only a couple of minutes walk from St Mark's Square. Great service. We can recommend this place without hesitation and will return one day ourselves.
In 6 visits to Venice, this was the most enjoyable hotel stay. Great location, attentive, friendly and helpful hotel staff. Breakfast service staff was the best, started our day with friendly welcome and great attentive service (a five star experience), best buffet breakfast I've had in Venice! I highly recommend it.
A magical hotel that captures the mood of this wonderful city. By far the best hotel we visited during our stay. Staff were attentive and most helpful. The restaurant and bar were atmospheric and well run. I would highly reccomend the Metropole and will stay there again for my next visit.
A plus! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Metropole. We had two rooms - one for our daughters. The rooms were comfortable. The service was prompt and efficient. Everyone was helpful and courteous - and made efforts to assist us. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. I highly recommend the Metropole.
We had a wonderful week in Venice. Staying at the Metropole Hotel was the icing on the cake, we would recomend it to friends and family. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
This was our second visit to the Metropole. It is ideally located on the Riva Schiavoni, next to St. Mark's Square. The Hotel is extremely well kept. The rooms are furnished in Italian Antiques. The staff is very courteous and attentive. Breakfast is usually included in the price of the room and is excellent. The Metropole is also accessible by water taxi, directly to their lobby, which is a great asset when considering luggage! Its the best spot in Venice!
Thanks to this website the price we paid was very good value for Venice. One strange thing which we did notice was that at breakfast, orange juice was charged as an extra despite the fact that the free buffet table was laden with a very wide choice of breakfast food. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful but displayed a great reluctance to speak Italian when we tried!!
We had a lovely stay in the hotel and would definetly stay there again in the future. My requests for flowers and champagne in the room were beautiful, the staff friendly and the room beautiful.
