Metropole Swiss Quality Hotel Berne

The only reason I chose this hotel is its location, which is so close to the main street and train station. The hotel room was adequate, spacious enough for three of us. It didn't have AC, but it turned out it was not necessary at all as it turns pretty chilly in the evening hours. The room is a little bland, but pretty clean. My daughter wanted to get online, which was not available in this hotel, but the staff told us to go across the street to anther hotel by the same owner for free computer access in the lobby. Our price included breakfast, which is quite OK. Overall we are satisfied with our stay.

Nice hotel at a lively área in Bern

This Hotel provides a very good value for money. Well located quite central in Bern, the room is small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast, which was included with the room price, it was quite good. So, all in all a good deal.

Conveniently located a short walk away from Bern SBB Railway Station in the heart of town. The hotel was showing its age though. Free internet, gym and dry sauna was available to guests for free in its partner hotel just across the road.

The noise from the road outside stopped me sleeping properly for the entire 6 days we stayed there, the breakfast was OK but was limited and was the same each day. A kettle in the room would have gone done well. Doubt if we would stay there again.

Very clean but basic facilities. It is in the centre of Bern, but Bern is so small that almost all hotels are in the centre. Better options could be found.

Rooms are a little plain and bathroom a bit like stepping into a cupboard but use of facilities in the sister hotel across the road very convenient. Great breakfast.

Fantastic location, we were overlooking the main christmas market right in the centre of town. Very clean, big room. Price was a little high, but that's to be expected in Switzerland.

Based on the reviews I read, I was expecting the hotel to be average at best, but it exceeded my expectations. The staff people were excellent, the location was wonderful, and the rooms (though sparse) were great - VERY clean. There was some noise on the street at night, but I'm a heavy sleeper and wasn't bothered - my friend was. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We were traveling in a group, my room was very little, but many of the others had a bigger room. The location is very close to the railway station and the old city. The breakfast was good, so was the price. I recommend this hotel.

Hotel was very convenient for the city centre and the railway station, we walked with ease. Room was clean and tidy and adequate. Breakfasts were fine and adequate as well. We had a room facing away from the street and square so we were not disturbed by concert in square. Price is a bit over the top but aren't all prices in Switzerland.

The lacation was close to the station and easy to find. The breakfast was simple but good. It is in the center of the sightseeing spots.

Everything good, close to city center

If you're staying there ask for a room that doesn't front onto the street. Even with the windows shut at night this is a very noisy street due to the pavement cafe's opposite and the people walking along it all night shouting and calling to each other.

I've stayed in this Hotel for the past 32 years. In this time I've seen it go from a 3* Full Board Hotel down to a 2* Economy Hotel with only Bed & Breakfast facilities. Most of the rooms have been modernised but some of the bathrooms are a little tired. I will continue to stay here for as long as I am able because of its central location within walking distance of the Train Station, its good value and its friendly staff.
