The Metropolitan in London is among the capital's most enduring design phenomena, a hotel that combines cool looks and cosseting service with a contemporary mindset, putting it squarely on the map of travellers seeking to be at the centre of the action. From floor-to-ceiling windows, look out over a glittering skyline, comfortable in the knowledge you are standing right where it matters - on Park Lane, with the city's best bar and restaurant in the very same building. Recently refurbished guest rooms and public areas offer complimentary Wi-Fi and high-speed internet access in stylish surroundings. The Met Bar, London's byword for cool and sophisticated, is reserved for members and hotel guests only. Nobu at the Metropolitan is more than a scene-stealing restaurant; it is an essential experience for any serious gourmand. Breakfast at the Metropolitan is taken in The White Room, a calm space in which to begin the day with a deliciously fresh menu. The Metropolitan's 24-hour room service includes Nobu specialities as well as late-night comfort options, like burgers and club sandwiches. In addition to a gym, we have two treatment rooms where you can indulge in Asian-inspired, holistic therapies originally developed at our sister resort, COMO Shambhala Retreat at Parrot Cay.Treatments include shiatsu, reiki, reflexology and Thai massage as well as Environ facials. Kokonaisuudessaan ehkäpä paras hotelli, jossa olen ikinä ollut. Saimme heti huoneen, vaikka saavuimme hotellille jo kymmeneltä. Suosittelen!
I had read some of the other postings about this hotel on this and other sites, and I was a bit worried after booking my fantastic weekend deal, but I went with an open mind. I cannot say how happy I am I stayed at the Metropolitan! The hotel was magnificent--very clean, in a great location close to everything, and the staff was second to none. One drawer was broken in my room and only one pillow on my twin bed was a bit annoying, but I am pretty sure if I had actually called to complain, they would have helped me right away. The rooms were immaculate, the bedding comfortable, and even with a partial view of Hyde Park, my sixth floor Deluxe City Room was fantastic. The breakfast in the hotel was a bit pricey, but what can someone expect for room service in London? May I say, we split an English Breakfast and ordered Eggs Benedict and Pancakes and they were delicious! The only one drawback I have is that the Nobu restaurant was closed for remodeling, as was the bar in the hotel. This was not disclosed to me by Orbitz until after I booked the reservation--and even then, I researched it based on other folks' comments before I went. I am not sure if this was a disconnect with the hotel or Orbitz, but really, this did not take away from my stay. There were plenty of pubs just around the corner, along with the Hard Rock Cafe, so I did not starve, nor was I thirsty. Honestly, when I go back to London, I will check this hotel for availability first. Thank you Metropolitan!
For being London the price was ok and the size of the room was above average.
Nice and good size roooms - good service - friendly people.
A very nice place to stay in the Park Lane area of London. We didn't get a chance to eat at Nobu but would do so next time. The service in the bar was good, the breakfast excellent and the rooms quite small but all facilities were there. I especially like the walk-in shower.
