EXPERIENCE OLD COLONIAL HONG KONG AT THIS UNIQUE CULTURE HOTEL! Mingle by The Park is 5 min’s walk to the subway station, 10 min to the Exhibition Centre. It's 5 min by taxi to Central, Causeway Bay & Tsim Sha Tsui. “Wanchai” is the OLDEST settled area in Hong Kong, where Chinese junk boats and British trading ships used to converge. Here is the REAL Hong Kong Life – vibrant, colourful, mixed-cultural, full of energy and filled with contrasts. The building is an authentic, vintage 60's building with colonial architectural style, carefully restored without touching anything that can make it less authentic – right down to the 60s-style floor tiles and railings, raw concrete walls, old Chinese décor, and 1960’s utensils and toiletries. LIVE like how it was lived in 1960’s Old Hong Kong! The rooms are smaller (reflecting the period), but it is an AUTHENTIC experience! There is also NO ELEVATOR. The stairs are at most 5 stories – but if you plan to bring heavy luggage, request a room from a lower floor. Inside the room, you still have modern day technologies: climate-control, FREE high-speed Internet and complete Wi-Fi coverage. You can also enjoy a full selection of music and movie entertainment from the hotel's comprehensive library on the LCD TV. Plug your iPod or PC into the audio jacks and enjoy your own music. A DVD player is provided in EVERY room! *** NOTE: ALL ROOMS IN THIS HOTEL ARE NON-SMOKING ONLY! ***

Mingle Place By The Park Hotel Hong Kong Guest Reviews

This hotel is well presented by the owner. All of the details have retro charm. I had a "lite single" room that was the smallest room I have ever experienced, yet it was comfortable because of the simplicity of the design. The room had a balcony, but like the room, it was only big enough to open the door and step out to look at the street.

Location is great, it's about a 5 minute walk away from Wanchai MTR station. From there you can get to locations such as Causeway bay (on the same line) or change at Admiralty station (one stop from Wanchai) to get to other locations such as Mongkok and Jordan. We stayed in a 'double' room and as other reviews have stated it is SMALL. With both of our suticases lying on the floor next to the bed, there's a small amount of space to shuffle around and get to the bathroom. Sink was tiny. I found the tap to be oddly placed as there was barely enough room to squeeze your hands underneath to wash them. Placement of toilet was such that while sitting on it my knees were almost touching the wall in front. All this said however, the room is very clean and its cramped quarters didn't bother my partner and I at all. We are small people though, I am only 1.67m (5'6") tall and she is shorter than I am. Plenty of bakeries along the street outside the hotel so it's easy to duck out for a snack or a breakfast on the go. Hotel wifi provided was fine with no problems with speed, you can find the password to access it on a piece of paper in the room. Overall if you're not fussed about living in cramped spaces (and let's face it - most of hong kong is like this) this hotel is work a look at.

Good Hotel, but the lack of a lift could be a deterrent for many people. Free internet was great and the service was good. Typical small room which is normal for Hong Kong, but bed was comfortable.

Rooms very small but clean and functional for short stop-overs in Hong Kong. Close to the Wan Chai MTR station for link into Central and surrounding areas. Staff very polite and helpful.

interesting to have this traditional chinese theme, quite a special experience. sound proof should be improved, as i can hear cleaning lady working and traffic noise outside very very clearly. plenty of eateries and local shops around

Conveniently located in Wanchai, there are bus stops just outside the hotel, and the tram stop and MTR a few minutes away by foot. Situated next to the main road, it can get quite noisy if you have a room on the front, but the hotel is ideal if you just need somewhere to sleep. Rooms are tiny with a small bathroom to match. The sink was shockingly small and not very user friendly. The room had a comfy queen size bed, TV, slippers, hair dryer, coffee/tea, kettle, wardrobe with hangers, telephone. Bathroom had clean white towels, toiletries and a decent shower.

We are on the 2/F of the hotel building. The traffic noise on the main street is just too annoying. It seems the balcony door cannot block any sound, we can hear almost every bus across the street. We can hardly get enough sleep.

a nice place, but the room is really tiny, convenient to every place, the biggest problem is there is no elevator, if you have big baggage then you need to have strong arms and legs

Small but functionnal room. The staff was helpfull and polite. The only drawback is that the room got very noisy in the middle of the night with plumbing pipe noises when the rain started pooring outside...

The lite room which I took was really small but it is fine because I'm not big-sized and have no real need to move around in the room much. The housekeeping service is good, the rooms are kept clean everyday. On the whole the staff there are helpful.

The rooms are very small, for 1 person it is quite cramp already; if you throw in the luggage, then you better not be staying in the room all day..As other reviewers have said, there is no lift, so try lugging a 20Kg luggage and 7 Kg backpack to the 5th (highest floor ), you'll know what tired means..other than that no major complaints if you are there for a short stay.

I've stayed here many times. The rooms are small, very comfortable, and cleverly designed to use every little bit of space. The hotel is located right in the centre of Wan Chai, and it's just five minutes walk to the MTR, busses and trams pass nearby, and it's just ten minutes walk to Wan Chai Ferry Terminal. The hotel has no lift, and it's a lot of steep steps to climb if you find yourself located at the top on the 5th floor. On this occasion I had problems with the video system, and it took two days to get this sorted. The reception staff are efficient and friendly, and despite the video, and the stairs, it's still my first choice hotel in Hong Kong.
