Take a trip to Chinatown, Little India, The Heritage Trail, Komtar and the famous New World Park Food Court and Entertainment Centre which are just a 5 minute stroll from the hotel. Fine dining and local hawker food are all available in the chic part of town which also boasts excellent nightlife, surrounded by cafes, multi-ethnic restaurants, shops and vibrant bars. We are a 50 room hotel with spacious and comfortably carpeted air-conditioned rooms with attached bathrooms. All our rooms are equipped with TV, Fridge and IDD telephone. You will be well connected here, wireless communications in all our rooms and common areas, making sure you're constantly in touch. We have room with 1 to 4 beds, but whatever your choice might be; you are assured of a high standard of comfort that will satisfy you every need. Getting there:From Penang airport You can take the airport limo/taxi, which will cost RM38 to the hotel. The journey should not be more than 30 minutes. You can also take the public bus but you will have to walk to the main road outside the airport complex. Take the Milan bus (yellow) with a direction board to Komtar. Fare RM3. Duration 60-80 minutes. From KOMTAR, it’s a 15 minutes walk to the hotel (see map). Taxi or trishaw from Komtar will cost RM10. From Penang main bus terminal (Sungei Nibong) Taxi fare to hotel RM25 - duration 20 minutes. There is a bus stop just outside of the terminal. Take the Milan Bus (Yellow) with direction board to Komtar. Fare RM2 Duration 35-45 minutes. From Komtar it’s a 15 minutes walk to the hotel (see map). Taxi or trishaw from Komtar. Fare RM10 duration 3-5 minutes.

Mingood is an old charmless Building. But its clean and the rooms are big and with all facilities you can expect for that money. They have a nice breakfastplace on the top of hotel. The stuff is very friendly and helpfully. They have a list of all atractions and the busnumbers, how to go there. I would go there again

The staff at this hotel were among the most accommodating and nicest I have met in many years of staying at all classes of hotels. they were superior in many ways to those of some 5 star hotels that I have stayed in. The only faults I could find were the quality of the towels. While serviceable and clean they were dingy and grayish from too many washings and use. I would recommend this hotel for a clean fairly priced accommodation in a good location.
Mingood is a budget hotel. Location is very good. Blocks away from Chulia St. and bus stations. Staffs are very nice, especially Arthur who got back to me asap on every email I sent him. I hope being a budget hotel does not stop them from making improvements. I suggest that towels be changed since they do not look good anymore. They are too old. I will certainly book again with Mingood.
In terms of facilities, it still maintains "olden days" facility. For the last booking price, I feel it is much less to be desired as a "budgeted hotel". Nevertheless, their staff as reviewed is quite friendly and the location of the hotel in the centre of the town is very convenient for 1st time visitors to Penang.
Does the trick bed a little bit to eat for B/F bouce around from room to room prior to a full check in untill you get the room you think will best fit your needs. The staff and family that runs this hotel are very nice if you have any questions just ask. Walking distance to a lot of places to eat and enjoy some A/C during the day.
While the hotel furnishing and style is a bit out of date, the rooms are big and clean and the staff very responsive and genuinely nice people!
Clean and convenient place to stay in Georgetown. Free wifi in all rooms.
In a quiet side street, well situated within easy reach - by foot - of restaurants at all price levels. Similarly, a shopping street and key bus route just minutes away and a 15mins walk to two large shopping plazas.
I'm happy staying at this hotel and the service given by the staff very friendly..the room nice clean n tidy..i very please to introduce this hotel to my friends.

Very good no frills hotel for the budget conscious traveller. A bit old but clean sheets and bathroom was my main criteria

Hotel receptionists are helpful and make the extra mile to give assistance. The room is clean and spacious, though a thicker or an extra blanket will make sleep more comfortable in an air-conditioned room on cold nights.
