Miskin Manor Country Hotel is a family owned business, situated in 22 acres of not so nice welsh countryside. The Manor itself is a renovated barn, which is still being renovated. Miskin Manor should be an ideal venue to visit many attractions in Wales, when the vermin infestation has been resolved, hopefully in Mid-2012.

Getting there:Follow signs for M4 West, exit M4 at Junction 34 and follow signs for A4119 (towards Llantrisant). Keep in left hand lane and after 500 meters turn left into private road, just before the traffic lights. Follow this road which leads to the hotel.

Away from central Cardiff but only a mile off the M4 enabling easy access to whichever area of Cardiff one needs to get to. Miskin Manor is in very spacious grounds that are very well kept balancing the "formal" area with the wooded and river areas. Room spacious as was the en-suite which was very new but lacked any shelves or hooks. We have dinner there each time we go to Cardiff so it was good to actually stay at the place and would certainly do so again. As a guest you can use the Leisure centre which is a separate, large building about 200 metres up from the hotel, all well within the grounds. Excellent facility with gym, swimming pool and a wide range of classes.
great atmosphere great food
The majority of our 43 bedrooms have faboulous views over the countryside and landscaped gardens. Each room is individual furnished and equipped with its own bathroom. There are several Executive, Four Poster and one Suite to choose from as well as disabled bedroom facilities on the ground floor.
Pricey, but wonderful. Staff are efficient and friendly. Food is not the greatest and would never have found it without following someone else.

We picked Miskin Manor Country Hotel after flying into Cardiff airport. Comparing the price to that of the airport hotels it was about £15 more to stay here and that included breakfast and was obviously a better starred hotel. As we were travelling home via the M4 it was ideally located. The exterior of the hotel is very dramatic and looks the kind of place from a period drama. Arriving close to midnight was no problem and we were quickly booked in and shown to our room. The room was very large and had lovely far reaching views over the gardens and countryside. We also had a drink at the bar which had to be opened especially for us and again this was no problem. We were even treated to a quick tour of the beautiful downstairs rooms. Breakfast was of a high standard and various options were available including the usual 'Welsh' breakfast, salmon and egg and even kippers! We would definitely use this hotel again in the future.
Amazing atmosphere and fantastic food. Would definitely stay there again.
