Moderno Hotel Venice

For its budget price - the hotel is just fine. Very small rooms, but convenient location - just few minutes from the railroad station, in a lively Strada Nouva. Reception is located in a sister hotel, just 2 buildings away from the spot. Would recommend this hotel for a very budget and short stay in Venice.

Pricing seemed typical of Venice at the time we booked. The room was clean, bathroom a good size. Breakfast was good, but we didn't realise you could ask for cooked eggs! It was VERY close to the station but quite far from the heart of the city. Good place to lay your head for the night.

Good economy hotel for Venice as all what you need is a place to sleep because all day you are out. Lack of little bit entertainment at night though. Customer services need to be improved as the staff are busy with own work. Breakfast is vey bad - firstly, timings not good, not a lot choices, it starts 8 am to 9h30 but if you go by 09hoo you might not get nothing. The lady who runs the breakfast was not helpful at all. She don't care at all, take it or leave it. I think you can't afford that if you are paying a fortune, she need to understand that customers satisfaction comes first.

THe hotel room and bathroom were quite big. the bed was comfortable? Everything was clean. THe hotel is very well situated, very near the bus station, train station and the center. All receptionists spoke French and/or English and were friendly. The only problem was the small breakfast room. We had to wait every morning for someone to leave in order to have a table. One morning there were no croissants left.

Hotel location is convenient, close to train station thus we didn't need to drag luggage crosing the bridge or taking the water bus that extremely expensive. Brakfast was good the person who took care breakfast was very efficient. Only the final day of my stay that experience a long queue for breakfast seat, because all guests of the chain hotel had to eat here. I guess there're 3 - 4 hotels in the chain.

Its the perfect hotel if you just want to drop your bags and have a place to sleep at night. I stayed here with my wife and was clean and pleasant, no great views over looking the grand canal but otherwise a nice place to rest your head.

Hotel has very nice location. Right next to all main bus stops, train station and vaparetto. Room was small,but clean and staff was very friendly.

Sharming hotel for young couples.

very good budget hotel

The hotel is excellently located just 5 minutes from the bus station.We would further like to add that we had reached Venice at 3 in the morning and to our pleasant surprise,the receptionist was waiting for us and we were at once accomadated to our room without any problems.the service in the hotel is very good and so is the morning breakfast..Would definatley recoomend this hotal to anyone visiting Venice for a pleasant stay with an excellent staff.

This was a great little hotel located really close to the station and the main strip. The staff were friendly and the room was cosy. The breakfasts were really great too. This was great value for money in Venice. Would stay here again.

very bad hotel every day problem because it was cold the rooms

Rooms were very small and basic but clean. On a very busy street and noise was a problem at times.

This hotel is very conveniently located close to the Santa Lucia Railway station, in the centre of Venice. Also not far from the bus terminal, very easy walk. Great location. A good area, lots of restaurants nearby, ferry stop on the grand canal very close. Small hotel, small breakfast room.

Hotel was very pleasant, clean, tidy and comfy. Only thing is that the reception is next door and we had to work down a dingy alley and then no lift for bags, bit of an inconvenience, but other than that good hotel, good location, good value for money.

Advantage - very close to Railway station for an early getaway. Three or four floors and no lift.Booking in is made at the adjoining hotel which provides breakfast, and generally looked a lot better. Entry to the hotel is through a narrow (less than one metre wide) alleyway. Very basic accommodation.

While the room standard,cleanliness,location in terms of train arrival and breakfast service were very good -the entrance and stairway were unbelievable. Entry was via a narrow alley between two walls leaning at angles while the stairway was almost vertical. Seems Moderno is part of a hotel next door which appears normally configured at the entrance. Initial impression of Moderno from the street level is very very poor.

Comfy room, but there was a bad smell in the room.
