Avda. Pio XII, 35 E-14700 Palma del Rio - Cordoba - Spain
This hotel belongs to the selection of small and charm hotels characterized by a personalised and friendly service and situated in a natural surrounding off the beaten track or in a charming historical building all carefully decorated. Less than an hours drive from Crdoba, through the fertile valley of the Guadalquivir, is the small farming town of Palma del Ro and the delightful Monasterio de San Francisco Hotel, a 15th century converted monastery, which exudes peace and tranquillity. A wonderful serene atmosphere still prevails in the monastery and original features abound, with its shady cloisters, ecclesiastical courtyards and elegantly laid out gardens. Here, set amongst the orange groves and orchards, once tended by the monks, is a particularly delightful swimming pool, where guests can cool off after a day out exploring the great Moorish cities. Many of the converted bedrooms were originally the monks cells and surround a charming patio. The hotels restaurant, where Franciscan monks once dined, before sailing off on their missions to California, offers excellent cuisine and fine wines. The building has great architectonic value. The bedrooms are comfortably furnished in keeping with the architectural features of the building. Its restaurant is a must, with exquisite cuisine. A place to enjoy the Andalusian cuisine.

A charming hotel with a very Spanish feel. Room was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom tiled and decorated with local ceramics. The only downside was the lighting - I could not read in bed because the lighting was so weak. But this is a very good hotel offering service and comfort for a very reasonable price. Highly reccomended.
Very nice location, very quiet and typical Spanish village, beatiful old monastery
I would highly recommend this hotel. Not only is the monastery beautiful, romantic and cool, the rooms are of superior quality for the price. We ate at the restaurant and had a delightful meal, locally prepared produce and excellent wine. The staff were extremely helpful on finding that we had inadvertently left something important behind. They managed to track down where we were staying next and drove over with the item. No request for recompense, just helping us out. Not many organisations would do that!
Marvellous hotel in a beautifull achitecture. Quiet Ideal location to visit Sevilla and Corcoba We enjoyed the stay !
The Monasterio de Francisco Hotel Palma Del Rio is out from Cordoba between Cordoba and Seville, a quaint little village. The Monasterio is very beautiful, have to walk up stairs as only two levels, no lift so if heavy bags, beware. Well worth the experience, the restaurant is fantastic with local cuisine and a beautiful garden before the pool which has a wonderful array of vegetables which seemed to be served in the restaurant. Sound tends to travel through the corridors so a bit noisy.
This is a very beautiful hotel with lots of character. The swimming pool is excellent. Well located for visting Cordoba and Seville, Castle and Almodovar is well worth a visit and is close by.
A very special Hotel and will visit again
This is a beautiful hotel located in Palma del Rio ,which is about a 1 hour drive from Cordoba going towards Seville. It is a perfect overnight stop ,but probably not the kind of hotel where you would base for more than 2 nights. There is nothing in the town itself,in terms of tourism, but the nearby towns of Ecija and Carmona are well worth a visit esp Carmona. We stayed in early February-sunny but cool. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent and the rooms are spotless with beautiful bathrooms.
Beautiful building, lovely gardens and grounds with delightful swimming pool. Good for relaxing, an en route stop or visit to Cordoba - quite an easy journey in car.
A hotel with a special character en we recommend it highly. Very quiet. One of the receptionist did'nt know any english and that's a pity.
imaginative restoration of an old convent with beautiful gardens. Main restaurant was closed for renovations but temporary quarters offered excellent cuisine.
First class accommodation, service, food (we had a memorably evening meal in the hotel) and very handy for visiting Cordoba. Will definitely return to this hotel.
The hotel is situated between Córdoba and Sevilla in a small town in the countryside. The atmosphere at the hotel is very good, however the hotel staff speaks hardly any English. The history of the Hospedería makes it an experience in it self and the buildings are very impressive.
