Monnington Lodge is a friendly country inn in Blackwood, near Newport. Originally a 16th Century Farmhouse, this quaint building located near the Brecon Beacons is brimming with country charm and a wonderful character, giving you a warm sense of welcome from the moment you arrive. Monnington Lodge began life back in the 16th Century as a farm built and owned by the family of the infamous Captain Henry Morgan and is set in its own grounds overlooking the small town of Blackwood - a short distance from beautiful woodland, and yet within easy reach of the cities of Newport, Cardiff and Bristol. Famed throughout the local area for its high quality food, first class service and relaxed atmosphere, you will be greeted by friendly, affable staff, finding a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere buzzing with the sound of social chatter. |
