Getting there:The Hotel Monopol is located directly opposite to the SOUTH exit of the Frankfurt central railway station. BY CAR: At first, follow the direction signs 'Stadtmitte / Hauptbahnhof' (city center / main station.) When coming from the north ('Platz der Republik'), the railway station is at the right hand side. Pass the station and turn left into the next street ('Mannheimer Straße'.) When coming from the south ('Friedensbrücke'), the station will be at the left hand side. Beforehand, turn left at the 'Baseler Platz' into the 'Karlsruher Straße' and then right into the 'Mannheimer Straße'. BY TRAIN:After arrival at the central railway terminal, please take the SOUTH exit. BY PLANE:Follow the singns for the local transport ('S-Bahn'). Take the S-Bahn no. 8, direction Frankfurt central train terminal ('Hauptbahnhof'). Get off at the central station and leave the station concourse from the SOUTH exit.

Needed a hotel for a short stay (2 days) between flights. I was concerned about the area(from what I heard) but the hotel and staff were so professional, It made all the difference. The look and feel of an old world hotel that has everything you would want, realizing that it is now brand new. The location was better than perfect with ease getting back to the airport with lots of luggage for us to handle. The city is vibrant. I never felt unsafe. I will gladly stay there again the next time we pass thru Frankfurt. Believe me there are plenty of iffy hotels to be found but this is not one them. My hat off to the hotel and all those that work there.
As you can see were were very pleased, the service was so good. complimentary coffee cake and bar fridge was amazing and very welcome, and the awesome breakfasts helped to make it an excellent stay. Location was not exactly wonderful but very close to public transport and 15 min walk away form the city center. WE would recommend it highly The only negative was the smoke smelling carpets in the corridors
Excellent value for money. Older hotel with good service and very clean. Great location next door to train station. Free tea & coffee for guests in foyer. Free wifi. Only down side was no airconditioning.
The hotel is very well located right across from the main station in Frankfurt. It has all the charm of a 100 year hotel - high ceilings, older furnishings, marble floors, chandeliers, a heritage-listed facade, atmosphere and charm. An excellent buffet breakfast is included in the price, along with free mini-bar in the room and all-day refreshments in the lobby. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Certainly some things are old, but everything works. The double entry doors to the room are unusual and quirky, but the windows are well sound-proofed and unless you did as my wife insisted and slept with the windows open, you will have no issues with noise. However, if you don't like older style hotels - simple, book elsewhere. And I'm sure they'll have a flat screen TV in the room the next time I stay. Will definitely use this hotel again if the occasion arises.
when we arrived the hotel the reception counter gave us a big welcome and explained the hotle facilities in very details. the mini bar in the room were free and refilled everyday. I would be very pleased to re-vist on my next trip.
I am very happy with this hotel, especially the free internet access, the free mini bar and good location. I will stay in this hotel again if I visit Frankfurt in the furture.
Really convenient to Hofbahnhof, about 0.5k from river, taxis and trams at the door, great breakfast buffet, good internet connection. I would stay there again.
I stayed at the hotel in September. The hotel was very clean, staff very helpful, an extra bonus was the hotel is very close to the train station. I'd stay there again and I'd recommend it to others.

This hotel was nothing special but was in the city, close to the train station and amenities. It was clean and the staff were friendly. I would stay there again.
Directly opposite the main railway station. Ideal location if intending to do any train travelling. Some nice pubs and eating places nearby. Main shopping area and eating area of city is only 10/15 mins. walk away, so all in all we were more than happy with this hotel. Staff were very helpful and all had excellent English which was a big help.
Price was extremely hight due to an exibition in Frankfurt
It is very conviently located right accross from the train station.The staff and housekeepers were very friendly and the breakfast was very good.
A superb hotel, located right next to the train station and offering things that most **** hotels don't. A free minibar was a treat, as were free cakes and hot and cold drinks (and free newspapers) for guests. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, and breakfast was great. The room was cleaned and maintained regularly, while not 'bothering' you to do this. In fact, I can't think of anything bad to say! I would recommend this hotel to anybody without hesiatation.
Great hotel for the convenient train station area. Reasonably sized room, and clean for the price.
excellent location. Friendly staff. Know it's common in Frankfurt, it's worth to note that the hotel rooms are not equipped with air-con.
Hotel visit was a good experince but lacking of airconditioning from the the room was a very negative thing. We didn't notice that when making a reservation to a 4 star hotel. The average temperature in the city was 28-31C during our visit and it made quite difficult to sleep during the night!
The Monopol is an excellent choice for anyone needing to stay in Frankfurt. The rooms are extremely spacious, well furnished and the free mini bar is a plus. The only let down was the lack of air conditioning - there was a mini heatwave during our stay and sleeping was unbearable.
Location, free internet, fantastic breakfast, helpful staff all made our stay very enjoyable. We will go back there. Only drawback, our room was very small, so we were constantly stepping over suitcases.
No A/C in rooms so very warm ath night. Free minbar but no snacks in it.
