St Petersburg, Russia — Alexander Nevsky sq. 2
The centrally located hotel “Moscow” is perfectly situated in the historical city centre on the Neva river embankment near the Nevsky prospect. We offer a big parking area. The prime location and great transport links (nearby underground and train stations) provide quick and easy access to the main commercial areas and city sights: Dvortsovaya emb., The Hermitage Museum, the Admiralty, the Kazan Cathedral, the Russian Museum and others just in 15 minutes. The hotel overlooks the wonderful ensemble of Alexander Nevsky Lavra (the oldest architectural sight of XVII century), Alexandra Nevsky bridge and the Neva river.

Room was a fair size and o.k. Lots of construction work going on outside, but that' shardly to blame the hotel. Nice georgian restaurant-though it was not possible due to the political situation to taste georgian red wine. The location with the metro within a range of 100 m is excellent and a fast and inexpensive way to get around.
I required to extend my visit to the Moscow Hotel it was then when they made all kinds of add on to the billing and it was hard to explain as the english became mush harder when they got money from you. Also the staff, room service add on to the price of food when you order so you need to look at what you order and total the price before they get to you or they will just charge you more. I work as a hotel Security Risk Management Consultant and I have more information to hand, ie staff names and times but I will be taking that up with the hotel management when I write to them.
Unexpectedly good hotel. Excellent breakfast with nostalgic music for those over 45.
An old hotel with old facilities. Staff are pleasant, but the hotel is not really worth its rating. It's fairly close to the city sights. Food is not that great, but plenty of great places to eat near the hotel.
Ok hotel when you upgrade the room. However, breakfast was not good and the service at the hotel could be improved.
Good hotel in good location, metro is right near to hotel entrance, though very noisy on mornings and evenings. Breakfast and the restaraunt on the ground floor is very good. But the top floor restaraunt is bad and waiters there are rough.
I stayed at this hotel for 16 days Christmas/New Year 2006/7. All the staff were very pleasant and many spoke English. There is a Metroshka shop on each floor, a Post Office, sauna, mini-bowling, mini restaurant, bar, shop, luggage room but no internet facility. Although the single room was not expensive ($58/night) the other facilities are expensive. The shop has little stock (some of which is months out-of-dtae) and it is very expensive, a single apple costs 150 roubles - nearly $6! So make full use of the free buffet breakfast and eat as much as you can! The hotel is located adjacent to a metro station, Macdonalds Burger Bar and a few small shops and cafe, so it is easy to avoid paying the expensive prices for extras in the hotel. Avoid shops on Nevsky Prospect though - they are expensive too!
Excellent location, great view, steps away from the Metro, easily reachable, lots of amenities available within the Hotel (like the minimarket), and VERY reasonably priced given the quality of the hotel. Will definitely stay there on all of my future stays in St. Petersburg.
Lonely Planet describes this hotel as "creepy & disorienting". Not justified especially now it is undergoing a complete renovation. Although at the far end of Nevsky Prospect, there is a metro station right at the door. Breakfast was a bit dodgy by western standards. Overall a very good option in an expensive city.
Only the hotel price is good. The price of services in hotel is so expensive. It's more than Moscow 3 stars hotels...
Comparing with the average hotels in Russia, it is quite good. The metro station is really 20 meters from the hotel entrance.
Large hotel under repair at the moment, In side clean and tidy good resturant and all facilities, but with noisy main road to frunt , but thats St Petersburg , would stay there again !
Big old Russian style Hotel in quite good shape. Close to centre. OK restaurant with buffet. Breakfast so so. Rooms OK.
