Muang Kulaypan is a 42 rooms chick boutique beach resort with perfect location on the northern part of Chaweng Beach. Only 10 minutes slow walk to the main shopping & entertainment area but yet peaceful and silent to make you forget the outside world. The hotel is protected from the buzzling Chaweng by a huge walls and inside visitor finds an impressive garden with age-old coconut trees slowly swaying from side to side. At Muang Kulaypan, past is present with ancient traditions and spirits together with modern day facilities. Already the main stairs leading to the upper floor reveal mirrors chasing away the bad spirits, lotus, a holy flower, attracting the good one and twin phalluses, protector against the mischievous Goddess of the sea. Even each room has individual poem from the past, delicately chosen for each room. Uniquely designed rooms are located in two floors in a wide U-spape and close the exquisitely landscaped garden and spectacular black-tiled swimming pool to the middle. 100 meters beach line with stunning view to the horizon and nearby island completes your experience.

Getting there:Catch a taxi from Samui Internation Airport or on any of Samui's ferry ports and ask the driver to head to Chawenf. Hotel is located in the Northern part of famous Chaweng - easy to find!
Check-in Procedure:Please provide hotel voucher and passports to the receptionist. Check in time is at 14:00.
Car parking:Private car park with 24 h security provided free of charge for Muang Kulaypan guests.
Child Policy:Baby cot / extra bed provided without charge for child up to 5 years. Children under 12 years receive free extra bed, compulsory breakfast charge is 300 THB / day. Extra bed charge for children 12 years and up is 1,400 THB / night including breakfast.
The 14 year old hotel is in great need of a serious renovation. Huge lovely garden and small hotel so few facilities that even close early. Breakfast buffet not very good. Restaurant great but somewhat pricey. Nice pool but beach is difficult to use for swimming as there are many rocks. The rooms are not comfortable due to Zen style. The reception feels like an office.
the pricing in bar and restaurant was overpriced. the breakfast would be better if were a buffet. it would be great if there were mosquitoe nets or mosquito zappers plugged into the wall in the rooms.

Deluxe Balcony rooms have king size double bed, large day bed on the balcony and beautiful view to the ocean. All rooms are located in the North wing, near the pool and beach.
Located in a quieter, cleaner part of Chaweng Beach (North), but only a couple of minutes walk to all the action. Would definitely stay there again if I go back to Samui.
We loved this hotel very very much! We had booked 3 nights in a deluxe room (the superior ones are by the road and may have a bit of noise so we played it safe) and were to spend the following 2 nights at the Kala and I had left our 2 last nights "opened". Well, right after the Kala, we checked ourselves back in the same room at the Muang Kulaypan! The hotel grounds are beautiful, the garden is enormous and gorgeous and there is a real feeling of peace and space. The pool is gorgeous and just the right size and the salas are amazing for relaxing. We never bothered lying on the loungers by the beach as the salas are a lot more comfortable. They have a bell and you can ring for your favorite drink! The staff is super friendly and breakfast is great, I really enjoyed the Siamese one which changed every day. I got to visit the Inao suites and if you can afford the extra they are really stylish! our room was very comfortable and we hope to come back to this little gem of a hotel.
A lovely hotel close enough to the action (5 minutes walk) but far enough to provide a peaceful beachside retreat. The staff were friendly and attentive, excellent breakfast and a fantastic swimming pool area. I would definately return!
When we first arrived we thought the hotel was nice but not amazing, after taking a stroll down chewang beach it became obvious that the hotel was better than we had first thought, the section of the beach was cleaned by hotel staff dailly, there was always a feeling a of space unlike all of the hotels which were along the strip,a lot less crowded. Pool was nice and clean. Was very happy with our choice. If you can get a low rate i would highly reccommend.
Excellent location at the quiet end of Chaweng beach but only a short walk along the beach to the main drag.
Nice hotel - beautiful garden and nice room. The gym is a waste of space. The problem with standard/superior room is the fact that it is noisy and next to the road. Additionally, there is the walking platform in front of the room (between the sea view and the room windows), so that you can't really open the window to enjoy the view. It is a bit voyeuristic ! A bit dissapointing in that respect for what would otherwise been a very very nice hotel
The vast grass lawn is the only type I've seen in Samui. Everywhere else is paved and concrete.
A beautiful place a high standard on everything and a compelling design. A good example of a design hotel. A pitty it's located in Chaweng beach which is not the most genuine or nice place to be on Samui. The hotel is a real oasis in this area.
An oasis of tranquillity and charme in busy chaweng beach. Only the romms on the main road are sometimes noisy.
