Mundial Hotel Lisbon

Front desk staff showed enthusiasm in recommendations and made some excellent restaurant bookings.We would have liked to find a way of striking out on our own using public transport.Perhaps we hoped for too much with no Portuguese of our own but trying to be one of the locals and dealing with their travel c onsiderations is an interesting part of travelling.So that is maybe a bit picky which we do not want to be as the hotel staff were really good.

The hotel was great. Nice and clean and in a central location within walking distance to the metro station and downtown lisbon. Shops and restaurants were also very close. The room was great, clean and spacious.

The charge to use the internet is EUR 10.00 for 30 minutes and this is a bit overpriced.

Excellent service. Good food. A lovely four star hotel, right in the heart of Lisbon, close to Rossio Sq. Handy for the shops, metro, tour buses and local buses as well as the local history. Would recommend the hotel and will stay there again.

Great hotel, great location and a great service!

We stayed at Hotel Mundial for a long weekend and as we only really slept at the hotel in was ideal for our needs. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was very good. Beds were a little hard but we were so tired after our days sightseeing this didn't matter. The hotel is very well positioned right in the heart of the city near to two busy squares where there were many cafes and restaurants and very near to the main shopping areas. Also there were good transport links for buses, trams, metro and train all either right by the hotel or within a 5 min walk. The only downside was the area right outside the hotel. This area seems to be frequented by not the most desirable charachters. However do not let this put you off as it was only for about 200 yards and once past this there were no undesirables. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a short city break.

Asked for non-smoking room on arrival (remember to phone and request before travelling!), but arrived fairly late so none available. Reception said one would be free the next day for the remainder of our stay and we found second room far superior to the original. The location is brilliant for easy access by foot to central sites and the start of the major tourist tram and bus routes - thus no standing!

Very good central location, only flaw at the moment is some noice from the construction site next door. Convenient car rental in house with free parking in the hotel.

The hotel staff were courteous and efficient, The hotel has two resturants, which I did not use, and a nice bar. Breakfast, included in the room price, was ample, but items that should have been served hot were stone cold. The room was basic, but clean. Parking is free. The best thing about the hotel is its location, just at the top of the Baxia district, within easy walking disrance to resturants, shops, transportation...
